    Colorado Mountain Fun this Weekend?

So I just got into Denver a little while ago and dont really know my way around the mountains too well. I was looking for some advice on a good firstimer day hike somewhere not too far away on Sunday. If someone wanted to join me too i would be more than happy to drive.

or i heard talk of skiing a dirty patch of snow and drinking beers, i would definitely be down with that.

i would always prefer to get to the peak of something but i dont know if i will last long at real high altitude. really I havent hiked anywhere in the front range so anything will probably be pretty fun.

i guess i would like to keep the drive under 2 hours, and being lazy at heart easy acces is always nice but i can be convinced otherwise

i also mtn bike, and would be down for that.

Run, do not walk, to your closest quicky mart and pick up one of these.

Find an area in green, figure out how to get there, drive. Your homework: find Brainard Lake, Vasquez Lake, Jones Pass, indian Peaks etc.

They woke up to an inch of snow at Brainard Lake today. Means it probably snowed at my families cabins, about 20 minutes north of there.

You're welcome to join us at St Mary's on Sunday. It's not much of a hike and it's not much in the way of skiing either. But the weather should be nice and I plan to drink beer and fish for trout.

yup, the atlas was the first thing i bought when i got to CO. The NH/VT ones definitely got me around when I lived there, though the CO one has a lot more green areas. Thanks for the suggestions of where to narrow it down.

As for St. Mary's. skiing fishing and beer sounds like a pretty good time to me, who else is going? Anyone else leaving from denver?

Doesn't sound like too many maggots. Just me and hacksaw and a some old school low leather teletypes...
