    Talking Today was shitty...

    ...the operative word being 'was.'

It was just one of those days. I stayed up late last night doing homework, then woke up at 1:30 in the morning with the worst headache I've ever had. I couldn't get back to sleep. Things went downhill from there. I went from class to class finding out about homework I didn't do, tests i hadn't studied for, etc. When school finally ended, I went to crew. It was pissing rain, so we all got wet, cold, etc. and then worked out really hard. I'm running on about two hours of sleep. Oh yeah, and no lunch, because I forgot it. Shitty day, right?

HELL NO! I get home from crew, and my mom hands me my mail. On top is a letter from some college that I will never go to in Louisiana, so I threw that away. Underneath was... POWDER! Right then, the day got better. The moment I lay my eyes on that beautiful, beautiful cover, I forgot that my day had been bad. Of course, i put the rest of my mail down to read some of it.

Then I got back to looking at my mail. Immediately under the POWDER mag was a bulky envelope from Crystal Mountain... my season pass! SUPER stoke. It turned into a really good day immediately.

What was under that? My fucking Alpental pass! I almost wet my pants. I am now sitting at my computer, staring down the barrel of a fat essay, running on two hours of sleep, after a shitty day... and I can't stop smiling.

    God, I love skiing.

So you've got an Alpental pass AND a Crystal pass?

    What's your polo pony's name?

I don't have a polo pony. Or any more money. But I do have an awesome ski season ahead of me. I'm still in high school, so i don't pay rent, or anything like that (when i turn 18, i start paying utilities and rent and shit, though... i figure that's fair enough). I worked my ass off all summer doing landscaping grunt work. I'd like to take a moment to point out that this summer, seattle had the longest recorded streak of 70 degree+ days for the area ever, or something like that... it was damn hot all summer, and i was busting my ass so I could get my passes. They weren't handed to me on a silver platter. I also didn't pay full price for the Crystal pass, and I got my Alpental pass for preseason el cheapo prices. I spent less on my two passes combined than lots of people on this board spend for one pass.

That's why I am so stoked to get the passes. They are the physical manifestation of all the hard work I put in this summer.

    Pony for Sammy

    I'm just a bachelor, I'm looking for a partner
Someone who knows how to ride
    Without even falling off
Gotta be compatible takes me to my limits
Girl when I break you off
I promise that you won't want to get off

1-If you're horny lets do it
    Ride it my pony
    My saddle's waiting
    Come and jump on it
If you're horny lets do it
    Ride it my pony
    My saddle's waiting
    Come and jump on it

    Sitting here posing
    Peepin' your steelo
Just once if I have the chance
The things I would do to you
You and your body, every single portion
Send chills up and down your spine
    Juices flowing down your thigh
    (repeat 1)

If we're gonna get nasty baby
    First we'll show and tell
'Till I reach your pony tail, oh
Lurk all over and through you baby
    Until we reach the stream
You'll be on my jockey team, oh
    (rpt 1, 1, 1)

    Pansy

Try repairing industrial irrigation in Houston for a summer before you complain about a mere 70 degrees. It was so friggen hot down there inside in the AC it was over 70.

Pfftt...Kids these days....man when i was your age....it was hot!

People from Seattle are notorious for saying "when is this heat going to break?" when it gets over 80 for more than about two days in a row, and no I'm not joking. You start getting stories on the local news about the heat wave, etc.

Yes, we're pansies, but remember that hardly anyone has a/c, so when it does get to 90 (probably only a couple days a summer on average) it does seem really hot.

I know your all pansies, i lived in portland for a few.
the funny thing was how people would be begging for sunshine, and then as soon as they had three weeks of the most perfect tempertures in the country they were back to begging for rain.
and your right, if you werent proficient at closing your house in the am and reopening in the pm it was too hot to sleep.

    7. The Pony Remark
gs: Rozsika Halmos (Manya) Liz Sheridan (Helen Seinfeld) Barney Martin (Morty Seinfeld) Len Lesser (Uncle Leo) David Fresco (Isaac) Scott N. Stevens (Intern) Earl Boen (Eulogist)

Jerry's parents come to town for a 50th anniversary party. Jerry bets Kramer that he won't complete his plans to renovate his apartment with levels in a month. Jerry takes Elaine to the dinner and he makes an observation about children who have ponies, this remark offends the guest of honor. When she dies soon afterwards, Jerry wonders if he should go to the funeral or go to his championship softball game. Elaine wonders about the fate of the apartment, when she hears the widower is moving to Arizona. George wonders if it will ever be possible for him to have sex again.

We're even worse in San Francisco. We whine when it's foggy, complain when it gets above 70, and then completely freak out and stay off the roads the moment is starts to rain. For a former New Englander, this kind of behavior is sort of pathetic.

i hope my new powder is waiting for me in the mail. that will make today much better and it wasn't even that bad of a day.

and if my my sugar bowl pass was in the mail too i'd be ok with it.

be happy you are young samwich. at least you got to work all summer and spend your hard earned coin on passes and fun stuff. the rest of us old kids bust our ass for the luxury of paying bills. weeee!

Damn, a crystel and a baker pass would be nice. Crystel is not that far at all. But I never had a very good day there. But I say, crystel for southern storms baker for northern storms.
    No.
