    Thumbs down

I am both ashamed of our team and happy for the Argentine team. Just like last year, we're gonna get it when we go down there.

What can you expect when the so called "Dream Team" has the likes of Lamar Odom on the team.

You know, I know it's the players who actually play the game, but it's not really their fault.

Whoever put together that team is to blame!

    What a disappointment.

There was only 1 Dream Team.

Please refrain from calling this or any future Oly team the Dream Team. Unless of course they all decide to come out of retirement in 2008

It needed to happen. Maybe this slap in the face will do some good.

Good idea... I'd pay to see Barkley try to run more than 50 feet.

Funny, I didn't see any threads on USA basketball when they beat Spain yesterday

I take no pride in this loss and feel no need to hate on the players that were willing to go - there are a whole lot of players that should be ashamed that they declined to represent their country.

Team Nightmare is more like it. How do you get killed by 19 to Puerto Rico when they have less than 4 million people in the whole country???

If they try and give you shit, just ask why they lost to Brazil's "B" team

Wasn't he MVP of the league when he was with the Suns?

No, no, please leave Sir Chuck alone. Watching him swing a golf club; priceless. He's picking up right where Jerry Ford left off.

its easy to hate on these guys. but look at the facts here.

the players on this team are not built for the international game. it this the fault of the players, no. is it the fault of the Team USA organizers, maybe partialy, but as sham said, quite a few of the best players turned down their invites. some because they have no interest, others cited fear of terror as their reason.

how many games did this team play before the oly's? not many. why? there is no excitement in this country surrounding the team, there is very little interest in international basketball. its a very different game that is not played above the rim at all unlike american ball.
The 'dream team' played 35 games of international basketball around the world before those olympics.

the international game has improved dramaticly in the last eight years. its night and day. i'm not implying that puerto rico should be whipping us like they did, but you have to admit teams like lithuania, spain, argentina have some ballers on their squads and they practice together all year ('cept the few NBA players that might come back to the national team for the olympic games and or worlds).

if the US cares about this sport on an internatioal level we have to get up for other events besides the olympics, where were we in the world championships last year? does anyone even know if we fielded a team? what NBA player is going to give up any of their salery to play when their NBA season is on? none of them.

i think this team sucks and deserves to loose too. but i think its going to take a lot more than putting five superstars together for two weeks once every four years for the USA to dominate international basketball.

I don't know what the coach was trying to do. They are down big with 2 minutes left and they don't foul, and they don't shoot threes. Why did they not even try to win??? I have never seen anything like it in any level of basketball...I really don't understand.
