    Cool Radiohead

Ok, I don't know anything about anything regarding music, I think scoober once called my tastes "pedestrian", but I just got The Bends and it is so freaking beautiful.

I know you guys have been talking about Radiohead for a long time, but I finally got me some. It feels kinda like Pink Floyd. So good.

I think I'm gonna look around this forum some more. Get myself edumacated.

the musical/technical term for Radiohead is "neato burrito". I like 'em! I can't say I like all their songs, but Kid A is a super album. "National Anthem" is just one of those songs that hooks you immediately but you have to listen to it a few times to really hear all the wackiness in there. Okay Computer is also great. I know MD9 is a big fan, I'm sure he has some insight/comments.

    there's always a siren
    singing you to shipwreck

    but gravity always wins
    and it wears me out

Radiohead gives me the god damn goosebumps. It has for years. While painting my garage last weekend I blasted every fucking radiohead album from my truck as loud as I could. I owned the ghetto that day. No mariachi or rap shit. They watched the crazy cracker/gringo running ladders and rocking the fuck out all by himself. Screaming along at the top of his lungs like he just won the lottery.

I go through unbelievable amounts of music. I probably download 5 plus CDs a week. They always play while designing, while working on the house, while traveling, whenever. There are very few bands that just stop me in my tracks. Radiohead does. I hope next Tuesday Bjork's Medulla can do the same.

If you've got Radiohead questions I've probably got answers as my obsession with the band borders on being unhealthy.

There a kickass band to follow as they very prolific and always leak out new material. There hasn't been a Radiohead release since OK Computer I didn't have long in advance. What sucks though is that I had the Hail to Thief stuff a year before it came out from when they tested the material at Lives shows in Spain in Portugal. I'm ready for more. There are rumors of studio work in the process and they are at home. [/that unhealthy fan stuff]

Thanks for chiming in. So long as I don't get arrested, I'll be a fan along witcha.

Whenever they go live, I'd want tickets.

The last new CD I got I listened to it over and over and over and now I won't be able to hear it again for maybe a year or two. I want to make sure that doesn't happen with this band. I have amost listened to Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd too often.

Anyway, right now I'm downloading some John Coltrane, Frank Sinatra, and Lenny Kravitz. After that I'll grab Ok computer.

saw them at madison square garden during amnesiac, and even with suckass, nosebleed seats it was definitely one of the best concerts and performances i've seen.

    Yeah... Radiohead is good.

Wow... MD9 chimed in... what a surprise...

Radiohead tends to make drugged monkeys do dumb things.

MD- a friend of mine gave me a bunch of b-side and other rare stuff of thiers on a couple of CDs. (I'm sure you already have all that garbage.) Mostly it's acoustic versions taken from radio appearances and such. However, he tossed on a Bjork/Thom duet. I don't know where it came from, but it's my favorite of the batch that he gave me.

If you guys want an easy way to score some radiohead rarities here's good site:

Most of them are rare, because they're not so great, but others are amazing.
