    movie review: "the collective"

I bought the collective today, and i can easily say that it is the best bike movie that i have ever watched (i am a nerd who has watched a lot). In fact, this movie could possibly be in the top 3 action sports movies i have ever seen. Lets give a quick rundown:

Cinematography: tits. simply tits. All 16mm film, cable cams and long lenses, the utah section and a black and white shore segement!

Editing: Actually lives up and then some to the billing of being different. Wow!

Soundtrack: Perfection. No rap-rock or death metal, just perfection. Nobody well known, but it will be worth some searching for mp3's/cd's

Locations: Utah, redbull rampage, hawaii, shore, south chilcotins, and hucking in kamloops

Riding: Well lets look at the talent. Berrecloth, simmons, shandro, vanderhan, leech, watson, et all. What do you think?
And Romaniuk and matt hunter kill it up there in kamloops.

Go buy this movie. Style wise it would be comparable to the tgr style that all the maggots love, and then some. This movie makes me want to go ride my bike sooooo much i think i might crap my pants

    So true.

White, have you watched it with the directors comentary on yet? It's cool getting the inside on everything. Oh, and the s.lorence taking a pic of shandro ripping shot is too cool. Deff. top 3-5 all time. Number one bike just in front of ride to the hills. Anyone that has ever riden a bike and liked it should watch this movie.

By far the best bike movie. It's been a few months since we saw it, I guess I better go by it this weekend.

I got this a while ago on a whim, and it really is amazing. It's not all rockstar hucks, but it's all the cool shit about biking that makes it worthwhile. Gotta love a movie that isn't afraid to spend a ton of time on sweet singletrack.

Yeah, definitely one of the best action sports films I have ever seen. I saw an abridged version at the Banff Mountain Film Festival Tour, and knew I had to buy it. Some of the best sports cinematography I have ever seen. One of the few films of the genre that non-enthusiasts enjoy and are impressed with.
