I've procrastinated on custom footbeds for far too long, but I might manage to finally get some done on Friday. I also plan to ski Sat and Sun. Is one not supposed to use them for 24/48 hours or anything like that after they're made?

I think your golden. I never heard of that waiting thing, but maybe.
Do I detect a lot of anger flowing around this place? Kind of like a pubescent volatility, some angst, a lot of I'm-sixteen-and-angry-at-my-father syndrome?

The general practice with hockey skates is to leave them standing upright for at least 24 hours after heat molding.
It would just suck to fuck up a footbed because the materials were still too malleable or something...
mine didnt need any prep time, skied em about 24 hours after i got em, and they're still perfect a few months down the line
If they are heat molded you should be able to use them as soon as they cool down, which they do as they are being fitted to your feet. Meaning they are usable as soon as you walk out of the store.
it's all young and fun and skiing and then one day you login and it's relationship advice, gomer glacier tours and geezers.

IIRC I wore my Superfeet full corks right out of the store.
