Yep, one time I surfed in Pichi I almost died. That place is definitely not warm. I'm a bit of a wuss for cold water and SoCal in the winter is about the coldest I can regularly tolerate.

    How were the waves?

its cool though i can run to my shower once i get out of the water... all for 12 dollars...we even got satellite for the down time...

Big tour yesterday up the Glacier Martial above town. breez and TeleRob led, snorkeldeep and I followed, and we picked up Oswaldo the local halfway through. Snow was windbuffy but temps were good so it stayed fresh and creamy. Cafe and cervezas in the refugio and some stunning pictures...huge mountains one way and Ushuaia the other.

I´m out today with sore throat and a cough, probably brought on by partying all night in BA with ducktherope. And by all night I mean barhopping with local chicas and closing the bar down at 7 AM and going to a diner with them and drinking more beer at 8 AM and then getting on the plane to Ushuaia. Nights don´t start until 2 AM here. It´s nuts.

Dude, post a report from Termas when you get there. We're in San Rafael on Thursday/Friday this week, a week in Lenas, then probably chasing the snow in the same area (Bariloche-Termas-Lenas).

Cool. Reports coming in have said it's been very windy with not much snow in LL except areas above Marte. Damn, I sure hope the Santa Rosa makes it.

    Just got back from Ushuaia

Spent 10 days with Splat, Spats, Telerob, snorkeldeep (aka Senor Swandive), ducktherope (aka Senor Pisco) and the other boys "chaperoning" my 15 year old son. I hope we didn't cramp their style too much. It didn't appear so judging by the post-party 7am arrivals.

WHAT A TRIP! WHAT A COUNTRY! I'd call it a lifechanging experience.

Thanks to Splat for putting this together and giving my son a ski trip he'll never forget (nor will I) and hopefully the first of many more. Start planning for Ushuaia '05. Here's a pic from the top of Cerro Castor looking out over the backside to whet your appetite.

Isn't it great taking your kids skiing? My daughters are now 21 and 18 and I love taking them skiing. My older daughter is in to it more than my younger daughter. In the powder, my older daughter just has me beat (it's my eastern ski background holding me back). It is a great joy to be able to share the experience of skiing (for us older guys, in Kennedy-esque terms, to pass the torch to a new generation). Thanks for taking you son on this trip. AND POST MORE PICS!
I ski because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things.
