I'd be kind of interested. Not sure how it all works. The inivitations are not specific? As in not just for yourself? Let me know please. I'll try emailing since I think I still have yours.

Invites are for anyone, I haven't had any sent to me recently, though I have a couple of gmail accounts.

I'm still on the fence about Gmail, the detractors have some sketchy things to say about concerning privacy issues.

the thing is its just a spider that searches for content, much like when you do a google search, so its not like it records or discerns based on who you are. The machine doesn't care if I like transexual goat porn, it just tries to sell me stuff to aid me in my hobbies.

Hmmm, when it rains, it pours, I guess. I've got six more invites. So huck4bucks or anybody else that wants an account, pm me with your first and last name and the email account where you want the invitation sent.

I am liking this account better and better. It's got a very cool conversation feature that groups a chain of emails for you. And the labeling feature is much better than yahoo's folders.

    don't be dumb.

it's using the same technology that enables google to serve up contextually relevant textlinks next to articles on their partner sites, but in your email.

Shera, I could use an invite. I am need of a personal email account that doesn't sound quite as scary as meatdrink9. I'm sure if I get in early my very non unique name won't be taken yet.

it's google's email. like yahoo or hotmail. they're restricting the amount of users at the moment, so it's totally like a nightclub version of email.

cool - thanks Tuffy. Is there any big difference between it and Yahoo, for example?

That's kind of an understatement. Hotmail gives you 2 MB of storage. Gmail gives you 1000 MB. This means that your inbox will never get full.

As far as privacy concerns go. Get over it. All email servers "read your mail." How do you think they get it to you?

Yahoo gives you 2 GB with their premium service ($20 a year) I calculated the other day that basically, after about 7 years on this account, I've only used 5% of the my storage, even though I have probably 12,000 messages saved on there - work stuff, etc.) Crazy!

Anyhow, I'll have to check it out.

i didn't make a fuss over it, kook.

and i mean beyond reading your email address.

gmail will (or at least for now and until things change due to privacy concerns. it's been kind of a hot topic) deliver advertising to you based on the content of your mail. yahoo doesn't and i don't believe hotmail does either.
    fine

I wasn't really replying to you with the privacy comments.

Anyway, all mail servers do in fact read more than just the adress. How else do you think they get the mail to you.

Send me a PM with your first and last name and an email address to send the invitation. You'll be the sixth, so that'll be it for this goround.

Now, how do you get invites for others, do they send you an email? Would like to pass on the karma at some point.
