Arrow Need to know skiing conditions at Hood!

Help! I know Timberline isn't opening any time soon with the conditions as they are, but, will someone please tell me how far down the snow goes in the gulley below Silcox hut?
Can one ski from the top of Magic Mile down to almost where the groomers are parked?

Just a semi-educated guess on my part:

Last week they got about 8" up high, the mountain was pure white as viewed from downtown, looked awesome. Yesterday it was 85 damn degrees in town, FL. was up to about 12.5k, the last few days prior it was warm, windy and in the mid 70's. The mountain is once again a nasty shade of brown. I'm pretty sure anything below the top of the Mile is a no go. I don't know anyone who has been there in the last week or I'd make a few calls for ya.

edit: The forecast looks grim as well

I skiied it a couple weeks ago, all the way down to my car from Palmer, but I am purty sure it's mud now. There was a trip report at cascadeclimbers.com, in the freshiezone, called Mt Hood gives me Wood, where a couple dudes skiied from crater rock on October 19th. Like Keoni said, it's been hot since then.

Thanks, cj001f. That helps. I wish I could rotate that camera just a little bit to see how far down the snow goes down the contributory below the Silcox hut.
I'm still hoping there's someone who's been on snow in the last few days who might know.

What's wrong w/ Platinum's advice? There were pictures from October 19th, that's four days ago.

Here's the link in case you didn't see it.

That's what I needed to hear, CCS. I hadn't seen that link. Thanks.
That makes me feel a whole lot better about Hood. Now I'm leaning more towards Portland than Denver.

okaaaaay, that response didn't work, so I'll try again.

In short, I was there on Sunday. I got some turns, but it sucked.
I don't know if I would recommend it.

    Yossarian-
How far up until you reached snow? I can't really hike, so it's going to take me a long time to shuffle up the gulley. I know the conditions are going to suck (I've skied some pretty sucky summer conditions over the last 11 years). I just need to know if there's snow and how far up. Thanks in advance, mang.

Warshington and BC have been flooding while Oregun has been sunny, dry, and warm. You might think north, amigo.

well, the hiking down low was quite easy, I just followed the cat tracks/roads. Actually, bootpacking the mush was the worst part.

I stayed on the roads to the base of the Palmer lift.
