Once again I got the ole We Regret to Inform You!!!

I am having no luck this year on my river permits.
I just got denied for the rivers within Dinosaur National Monument
That was after getting denied on the 4 rivers in ID this week.

Sounds like you need to expand your group. Is it just you applying? I was lucky enough to have a friend draw a Lodore permit this season. Tree yrs in a row! I love that canyon, gotta be one of my faves. You should try gettin on the Yampa before permit season. I did last yr in early may--flood water. Fuckin blast. I never thought i'd get on Lodore or Yampa(let alone in the same season),you just gotta keep tryin and meeting different boaters. Its the only way.

I make my girlfriend apply for permits too......and it paid off. She won a fuckin Grand Canyon trip on her first try! And, ironically, its on the same date next year(2010) as the date we(brothers permit) are launching this year. March 3rd. Next week! 21days in the ditch.....

Kiss my ass, Amurica! I'm out!
    So local it hurts...

It seems most of my boating crew including my lady all got denied so far.
Last year was pretty good for a first year raft owner I guess.
I did the yampa the week after you did if I recall from your post. (Early May)
The Ark for Fibark in June
Northgate Canyon over the 4th of July
    Lodore in early August
    Westwater in September.
Just not having much luck with my apps.

Have a great trip on the grand.

Nice. That looks like a good season. We both got on Yampa and lodore. I didn't know Northgate would run in July. I didn't get to the Ark last season. I really wanna oar the Numbers this year.

My last season included San juan,Labyrinth,Westy,Yampa and Lodore and the Poudre of course. An awesome season. Hopefully this one is even better. Holla at us when the Poudre starts flowing and we could meet up at the Stevens Gulch lot,get wet and get rowdy....

Launched one year ago (March 15th) for a 21 dayer. Pretty much life epic. Came home, turned around and did the Rogue for a week before permit season, which was pretty fun, and pretty cold.

Anybody needs a gear/beer boat pusher, lemme know.

So are you a prick or just a stunt cock?

What kind of boat you got?
I may have a spot on the MF salmon just for the random factor.

Why is it that you have 69 friends exactly?

I got denied on the Rogue this year. It was the first attempt at the permit/lottery process...guess we'll just have to do it the old fashioned way...pray for openings!

Depends on who you ask, I suppose. Most of the time I try to stick to the stunt cocking. I did the lower Salmon into Hells Canyon a few years ago. Pretty much an 8 day booze float, hah. The MF sounds like a little more fun. When are you going?

    You know why.

I typically kayak in a 6.3 Kingpin, and I typically raft in a 14' Sotar SL, but I have access to bigger & smaller boats. I pushed a 16' Aire cat down the big ditch.... here's a pic of Lava Falls...

I don't know if there's ever been a Chupacabra sighting on the MF Salmon...

Well I ended up getting lucky after all.
I placed 1000 or so calls the day they opened calling and landed a 4/22 launch for the Yampa and a buddy got a mid August launch on the Green.
Looks like the season is starting to look up.
