Thats a lot of bodywork on a 4 cylinder. Right there is the essence of rice.

Problem with the WRX is you realize just how many gaper drivers are in the left lane.

That's how it came off the production line.

I thought it was pretty dope until I saw the interior.

You don't want to be looking at a bunch of puke yellow when you're inside the car.

Spec R1 is BS. It's just some body kit type crap installed by the factory...

"The release of the WRX Special Edition Spec R1 will satisfy those searching for a custom look from a factory car. The Spec R1 comes with MOMO designed accent pieces. 17-inch BBS wheels, and Bridgestone Potenza Pole Positions tires. The Subaru Anti-Theft System is also part of the package. Each Spec R1 will carry a unique serial number representing the limited availability of this vehicle. All WRXs are now outfitted with an illuminated ignition key ring."

This one isn't even an STi... Pass...

Hey josh, the only thing is that they say its spec'd with a 2.5 Turbo, which only the STi comes with. So if it was just a WRX with a body kit, it'd have the 2.0. If its factory equipped with the 2.5, it isn't bullshit, unless they plan on putting it in all the WRX's (which they can't, for rally homologation reasons).

You got suspicious when you saw the VIN consisted solely of 2's, huh?

And what makes this different from a VIN?

Hey Funken - regarding your sig line:

    I'm gellin like a felon.

Have you noticed on the commercials they've dropped that? I wonder if they got complaints about the "felon" part of it.

I don't think that car has the engine they claim it does. The 300 hp, 2.5 L turbo is only in the 2004 WRX STI. This is clearly a 2003 (it has the bug-eyed headlights), so unless someone has dropped in a 2004 engine, or has taken the standard Imprezza 2.5 L engine and turbo-charged it, something is wrong here. I don't think any Subaru prior to the STI ever had a 2.5L turbo (in any market).

Well, what do you think roo? I know there were a whole lot of crazy stripped down rally homologation models of the older WRX in Japan, such as the Type R, the RA, etc... Could this be one of them? Of course, I don't think the STi even comes with a radio -- this one does?

That's the run of the mill 225hp 2.0 liter engine- unless someone very tricky attached all the turbo plumbing and the like from a 2.0 onto a 2.5(i.e. from a 2.5RS) Since he says it's a North American spec car, and doesn't mention a very clean and discreet engine swap, I'm calling BS. Plus the 330hp STi engine comes with a larger intercooler.

The car is straight ugly. And yes, this is rice- they've added a lot of show and absolutely no go. It's actually probably slower than a stocker from all the stupid bodykit crap. Just buy an STi or an Evo VIII and be done with it.
