    Stolen Skis....

Thief Beware... I'm looking for a pair of Rossi S7's that were stolen near the Cottonwood Heights area on Saturday. They have a very distinct sidewall repair under the boot... If anyone is shopping and runs across a pair described, many kind beers in return. I want my skis back!!! Please!!!

You should reply with some details about the ski. There's a pair with bindings going for $400 on Craigslist right now. Seems to good to be true.

    Thanks...

Hey there... Just wanted to shout out and say thanks for the support and I agree, that looks way too fishy. They were mounted to a 26.0 shell and had the matching Rossi binding. I'm checking with the shop that fixed them to get the exact model on the binding. I can identify them by the repair work. To my Boston friend at the Bird... Thanks for the suggestion.

You don't know the model of the binding?

Since that's the case I doubt it's the 20 DIN one on those skis.

    What color is it?

    Good luck...

Either the CL author reads the board or he googled his listing's url and found this thread.

mogul5480...those situations just require the straight repossession. If I saw my stolen skis on a rack I'd just take them. end of story.

No shit, how can the cops prove it was stolen.

Record everything, #'s, exact description of all attached hardware...including make, model & color.

Write it down, take pictures, it's hard to describe something from memory.

^^^^^happened to me, 3k bike stolen off my rear porch. My buddy who owns the bike shop in town where I bought it calls me 2 months later and says I have found your bike. The moron bum who stole it went to the shop looking for a water bottle and free stickers. He scratched the serial numbers off and painted the bike jet black, even the fucking front and rear shocks, asshole. I grabbed my buddy ran out of the office, as my bike shop owner friend followed the guy in his truck to the local supermarket. I confronted him, he threw his gatorade and ben jerry's ice cream at me and ran the other way. I chased him down got a hold of him, ripped the shirts right off his back, he takes a swing at me, misses, and I just straight choke slammed him to the ground. Then called the cops, he squirms away while I am fumbling for the cell phone, and takes another poke at me and missed again, my buddy comes and clothes lines him into a bush and we was down for the count and he shit his pants, it fucking stunk. Whole supermarket watching, cops came, he confessed, I went to court, he is now in jail. Fucker even had the balls to lock my stolen bike up, cop had to reach into his shit covered pants to get the keys. Turns out it was his 3,234th offense. Put these fuckers away, but not before you get to beat their ass. I hope you find your skis and that your victory is as sweet as mine was.

Fack. That's awesome. The black paint sucks, though.

Some dicks stole my rig right off the top of my truck parked in my driveway next to the house. Locked three different ways. Sucks to wake up and find out that a couple grand walked off in the middle of the night.

Only time in my life I've done a legitimate triple-take.

Hope you get your skis back.

It's a long shot, but you might put an ad on SLC Craigslist seeking anyone who contacted this mysterious seller..
I had 4 bikes stolen over the years in Santa Cruz.. I always got them back because a friend would spot them being ridden around town..
Someone is bound to see your skis out there..
Be cool because the new owner may be totally clueless they were stolen..
And definitely fill out a police repost ASAP..

I called the CL dude Monday, he had someone else coming to look at them, so I didn't get a close look.
His name was Steve, I have his number written down if the OP needs it...

yes, in the grain of catching thieving fucks...myself and friends managed to track down one JOE FINLEY OF TAOS, NM who was stealing skis at Taos Ski Valley. This was probably in 2003 or 04, turns out one of my ski buddies was a teacher at his school, and the skis he took were blems that were easily spotted from a distance. They saw him on the skis, knew it was him from school, the whole thing. The fucker cried when I got his dad, the patrollers he'd stolen skis from, and the police all in the same room with him (at his job).
Cried and gave my fucking skis back. That's why, if any of you who know me and remember my pocket rockets that said "STEAL THESE SKIS" on 'em...that was that pair.

recently had my skis stolen oh er...replaced up at fucking killington.....I only went becuase it was a free wknd and now I'm stuck with some dudes little skis......went into bear lodge.....got hammered.....came out looking for my skis and they werent in the spot I had left them.....but did see a pair of shorter propeht 100's, 172s to be exact that were in the vicinity.....I Ride 186s with a distinct chip in one of the top sheets.....waited around for about an hour sipping on some beers thinking someone would come back after they realized they picked up the wrong ones.....reported it to the mountain.....sipped on something else and waited patiently for another hour! its now 430...lifts not spinning and nobody came back.....figured i'd try to be even more patient....this is a huge stretch for me being I was born and raised in NJ and lving and working in nyc area can make you a bit agro and much quicker to fly off the handle and get aggressive....so i had a few more outside the lodge....waited till 530 6....and nothing....now im stuck with some short skis with some f'd up bases low din bindings.....I'd like to sell them but still holding out in hopes the idiot who took them finally realizes the next time he goes to pull out his skis that they arent his and contacts killington. How the fuck can you do that? Guessing it was a parent of a kid who grabbed the skis and meant nothing by it...but fuck....people are stupid.
