Checked out Chiefs and Pistols yesterday, and the chief is by far stiffer than the pistol. The chief might just be the sleeper ski this year.

That's right. I'd recommend them only as a park-rat ski.

the chief looks interesting but even more so is the new seth pro model, the seth vicious. have yet to hear or see numbers but from the sound of it it's gonna be wider underfoot and stiffer than the past two pistols.

here is some stuff i read on the K2 factory team board

seth on the chief - "I have skied them and they were fun, but not twin tipped, so they ski different in the aspect that the tails feel like they hold you in the turn longer than a ski that has a twin, where you are able to end the turn when you want to or srub the turn out.

I skied this ski to see how the wider waist would work, this is something we are going to use for the new Seth that will be out in Dec/Jan.

Basically the Apache is the next generation of the Ak Launcher."

did anyone confirm that the Maide'n is last yrs Kahuna w/a diff top sheet? I got the Kahunas last season and loved 'em. They are BIG, and mounted neutral w/only toe piece raiser plate (heel sans raiser) they rocked the pow in Tahoe for me all season.

Not the best ski to drag around all day when hiking/skating BC, but for chair accessed deep days, lots of float, not too soft, just right for me.

yeah dude, they're the same ski.

I picked up Kahunas too, only have 3 days on them so far, but they seem promising for sure.
