Never seen these guys, but have heard good things:

Then again the source may be a tad suspect, he's known the drummer all his life, heh.

while I aint never been personally; the excitement that many of my friends get in the weeks leading up to a Ween show is the only thing that compares to what I remember about getting ready to go on mini tour or when the "circus came to town" ala the grateful dead.

now mayor I wish the masses could dig MMW but I doubt it.

Blues Travelor used to get the jammies all riled up but the new sound doesnt so much

Galactic is a riotous good time & no band playing makes woman shake dat ass more, but night after nght of funky boogie would wear this brother out or at least have me melt my cerebral cortex with E repeats. dont see the touring potential. especially now with the Houseman gone

personally think SCI is on a downward spiral & I havent been to a panic show since Mikey died so....

Ben Harper has a pretty devoted following of tourites & for some reason DMB does too.....

OAR seems to inspire that dedicated following too

as to the roots, Okayplayas would be an interesting little tour group, that is fo sho.....

fuck it we should all pack the car with Brown liquor & greenbuds & follow the Drive by Truckers!

Obviously I'm right and all of you are wrong. All of your opinions are worthless as I am the final authority on all things musical.
However, some egregious misstatements and incredibly insightful proclamations must be addressed.

Neurosis, obviously not happy stuff, but it isn't death metal, but more of multi-media experience/mind-fuck that allows you to glimpse into darkside of the human soul. Frankly, I'm not interested in the perpetual "summer rock tour". These corporate financed events are so parental and safe that only the Abercrombie crowd could find them satisfying, edgy, or even rock-n-roll. Haven't we had enought of $10 parking, $7 Budweisers and shows that are over by 10:30? Maybe I'm not ready for the next big thing.

    That's some stupid shit, man.
Yeah, you did write some stupid shit.

True, the parking lot was fun, but what went on inside was a disgrace.

    Oh.
Did you pinch your toes in your telebindings or have some bad granola this morning?

Why was it a disgrace? Puking junkies? Check. Inept musicians? Nod. Tiresome twirly types? Double check.

Still, I wouldn't call it a disgrace. Mediocre jug band music OK, but it was a fun time for a lot of people.

Now go get a biodiesel enema and relax.

Pardonnez-moi! I thought I'd had a rapport with M. Clark that could support a tongue firmly planted into the cheek.

Besides, no one has EVER been able to hold a candle to Zappa. EVER!!!!

Music is personal. Nothing is better than anything else.

I love Dead music and saw DSO last friday and they're pretty damn good. Imitators, sure, but they're good at what they do.

Some times I think your the only one who understands me in the crazy, jumbled, interweb. The problem is I haven't put my toes in the rat traps recently, but maybe I'm always an abrasive know-it-all.

It's your job as a denizen of the internet to reflect what you perceive. With suitably adjusted eyebrow annointments.

You of all people should know that.

In the solipsism of neonew age knee jerk sophistry, the self centered sililoquy of pseudistry asserts singularly nothing.

Are we done with jam bands yet?

govt mule when woody was with them was some of the best music ive heard... Im 23 and have been going to festivals since i was 15... saw a good share... although the scene has fallen apart. Ive only seen a handful of shows this year (MMW x4, spearhead, antibalas, maybe one or two others) The music may be good, but the whole package has become incredbly spent.

I kinda hope there isnt a next big thing...

It's more the puppy dragger than the music that gets me down. People need to realize that there are other things to do on drugs that noodle around at the show.

Woody's - Ween is not a jam band. I saw Deaner huckle the piss out off some Phishhead sitting cross legged infront of the stage before a show. He wouldn't leave them around until they went up to the bar and got a drink.

    WEEN

They are without a doubt the best live band going. Been that way for quite some time. Dean and Gene are amazing and the energy at their shows is second to none.

In their prime (early 90's) Phish and WSP were both top notch but with Mikey's passing and Phish's retirememnt - the pot is boiling but who's cook'n?
why make ten turns when you only need to make NONE!
