    What was I thinking?

The story is here on the board somewhere, complete tear of right ACL in January 2004. At the time I was pissed at skiing, pissed at the inferior engineering of the human knee, pissed at myself. I was over skiing for the time being and ready to get back on my bike for the spring and summer.

The decision was made, I’d postpone surgery until after the summer, because I would much rather give up the a winter of 04/05 on skis than the summer of 04 on my bike and in the water. That was the consensus in my mind, at least. No big deal right?

    Wrong.

    .

Fast forward to today. Magazines are coming out, movie tours are being announced, new gear will be lining the shelves. It’s still hot as hell out, but the nights are getting cooler and the view of the Cascades out our front window is poking fun at me. LAN is telling me she wants to get really serious about skiing again. My great skiing/snowboarding buddy moved back to town.

    Damn.

Well… I made my bed, now it looks like I’ll have to do my physical therapy in it.
As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.

Yeah, what were you thinking? I would rather give up the summer than miss out on floating through waist deep powder! Skiing always take precendence over everything else!

You might have to settle for downhill tubing and lattes at the base village! Ah, just kidding, I'm sorry, man!
