Steve Casimiro: still a great writer after all these years. It's great to see his column in there each month.

Agreed. I come here for average writing (at best) by great skiers.Originally posted by Stikki
I agree with Road Trip. I'd rather read great writing by an average skier than average writing by a great skier.
Skiing magazine is so damn cheap that it's worth the $8 a year even if it only holds my interest for 20 minutes an issue.
Slim........so well said.Originally posted by slim
The problem with Skiing is that it's souless. It's a magazine about the sport of skiing. It's like reading a text book.
Powder is about the life that is skiing... that's what makes it great.
If your audience is largely intermediate, or let's say easily impressed, it's best to have the writer write from that same point of view so the reader isn't alienated. That's SKIING in a nutshell.
Hey, so aside from this magazine, where else do peeps like to go to read from the real-deal skiiers? I'm at a loss...
SBC Skier's not a bad mag.
Freeskier is tolerable.

Yeah, I saw that. Definatley only guy in the pic that looks like he has any semblance of of control in the turn.
steezarific!!
I still haven't figured out the snowboard magazines. I ride as well as ski, but those MAGS are useless..
I subscribe to SKIING cause it's more stoke, and super cheap for a subscription, plus the fitness/ training stuff is always pretty good. kinda like freeze though, i only read the articles when i'm real bored.
