Highly recommend a jaunt north up into Door Co, WI to take in a fish boil. Keep going and take in a Packers preseason game (forget about getting tix to a regular season game).

There's a million things to do in Chicago, about 999,950 of them that you wouldn't get to do in AK. Make the most of it!

You'll like the Museum of Science and Industry. I think Rem Koolhaas(jesus I butchered that) is finished with the Illinois Institute of Technology. Good architecture...heh. The Art institute is also a must see.

Make your father treat you to a Chicago steak. Gene & Georgetti's, though not the best in Chicago, is an experience you won't get anywhere else. For italian hit little Italy. I personally like Mia Francesca, but everyone differs.

If you make your way to Cabrini Green, make sure to jump in for some double dutch with my peeps at Jesse White's Tumblers.

Go to Oak Park and check out the early residential projects of Frank Lloyd Wright. It is a great neighborhood.

If you go to Milwaukee check out the new art museum by Calatrava. It is pretty spectacular sitting on the water's edge.

    Surf? No real waves.
Windsurfing is a good possibility though.

Flat. Yes, very. Drive a few miles out of town to experience the seemingly endless rows of corn in the corn fields. Notice the DeKalb and Lester Pfister corn signs. The DeKalb signs have cool flying corn ears on them. Try to talk a farmer out of a DeKalb corn hat if you can.
