Holy Cow-

We had quite the rainstorm yesterday right about 9pm.

Went out back to watch a lightning show way off in the distance. Had to call the wife it was so impressive. Too far away to hear anything but there was a flash lighting up the sky literally every second.

Then a couple of big fat drops fell and we watched as a rainline of clouds RACED down on the house from the North.

Across our lot to the North we could see the rain POURING down in a streetlight but there wasn't any real rain at our place and then all hell broke loose. Buckets of water. All the gutters overflowed (on the house and the street). The hail pulled off a million leaves (early fall ). And as we closed up the windows I had one brief moment where I thought we were about to have a tornado b/c every tree I could see was bent double.

By 9:30 it was just lightly raining.
By 10:00 it had basically stopped.

I checked the rain gauge (which in general reads a bit lower than my neighbor's) and it had a full inch. 90% of that fell by 9:30!

The wife and I threw back some PBR's and watched the show, impressive indeed.

I sure hope some of this carries over to winter!

the weather has been wacked around here this week LB. 47 degrees this morning??? WTF? high of 66 or so today. the midwest in august???? what's going on here, it feels like early duck season today, no shit. i think i'm the only one around here that likes it....

Yeah no kidding. I'm pretty dissapointed.

I was expecting the usual -- hot as shit from June all the way to September.
