    Super warm socks/liners?

Search didn't turn up much, so sorry if this has been posted on.

So, its just not in the cards for me to buy intuitions and frankly I don't want to lose the stiffness of my stock Lange liners, but my feet are dying.

My toes just get colder and colder with each time I ski/they get numb/etc.

It wasn't even very cold today and my feet were numb within the first run because the circulation in my toes is about shot.

    Silk liners?

I need something thin that I can wear under my regular socks that will increase the warmth in my boots.

    New type of sock?

I have been a dedicated SmartWool skier for 5 years now. Is there something better?

these claim to be super warm, though super spendy too. made of 1% silver, which is supposed to reflect heat

Have you been drying your liners out? Try some cayenne in your socks it should promote bloodflow.
Move along nothing to see here.

+1 right there. The other day my feet were cold in my Intuitions. I use those warm/dry heat sticks every night, but there was moisture between liner and shell. You gotta pull the liners out sometimes. Eliminates stank, too.

Something like a vapor barrier sock could be the trick. I was just searching to try to find a liner sock made out of heat reflective material, but they don't seem common. You could try cutting up a heatsheets style bivy and making your own and see what that gets you.

if you got room in the toes try chemical heater packs ,also dry your liners and if you can stand the noob factor the boot gloves .

sounds like a circulation issue, not a warmth issue?

if so you need to find out where the blood flow is being cut off and make some more room for that spot.

    1) thinner socks
    2) keep the toe buckles looser (or even off)
    3) see a boot fitter, odds are a solution is under $30.

^^^agreed. My old liners where shot and packed out, so I had to crank the buckles to keep from moving around, and I ended up with really cold feet. Thicker socks just means more compression of the blood vessels. Hot tonics or similar foot warmers are an option, but spendy, and a good set of Intuitions might be a better investment. They are likely stiffer then your stock Langes. My Power Wraps are much stiffer then the stock Lange liners in my boots, but after three seasons the stock liners were pretty well shot.

Ok; this might sound dumb, but try saran wrap or sandwich bags (no zip-lock) just around your toes/forefoot. Avoid too much foot coverage or moisture will not escape. I’ve never done it with ski boots, but this is my go-to solution for winter cycling and my feet have always been warm enough without booties.

If you do try it, bring another pair of socks in case your feet warm up to much… which will then make them even colder.

My feet never sweat so the liners aren't wet on the inside, although I havent checked between the liner and the shell. If its wet in there that has got to be a big part of my problem.

Today was fucking BRUTAL. I am gonna sack up and get intuitions. $150 is worth it to not having my toes surgically removed.

Personally, I strongly feel that ALL ski areas should offer complementary foot massages given by hot, large-breasted, scantly-clad Swedish chicks named Inga.

    Fuck you if you disagree.

Oh, and try merino wool socks and I agree that a visit to a good bootfitter is in order.

I started making sure my boots were warm throughout before skiing, never had cold toes since then.

what are you running for a footbed? my falcon cs pros were fucking brutally cold my first days on them, I switched to a good footbed (conformable) and yesterday it was 12 and my toes were ok. the bed must have improved circulation and it made a huuuge difference in how warm my feet were.

Go with the Intuitions. They are toasty and I am almost positive they are stiffer than your stock Lange liners. I also unbuckle on every lift ride for circulation

I've tried and given up on Power Wraps - I hate the actual wrap part. Feels like way too much material. They're warm but it feels like a lot of squishy foam in the boot.

But anyway, yeah, if you have circulation issues you might find that a tighter liner seals the deal and totally destroys the bloodflow rather than just inhibits it. See a bootfitter?

Just an aside...I put in Intuitions, and now my feet are so secure I hardly have to buckle the two lower buckles (I broke one the last trip, and skied four days with out it.) The problem is now snow gets in the shell, and guess what? Cold feet.

I need to run a silicon bead under the over lap.

    Eurosock and dry boots

i agree with pull the liner, Dry boots at night thouroughly and warm the boots on the way in the morning. I use boot dryer (http://cozywinters.com/shop/th-2020.html) with a converter ($10-$20 radio shack or such) and cig lighter in car.
Eurosock has great stuff. Pm me if you need a code for hookup on socks. i got 4 pairs and am stoked.
intuition is good, but if I can get a seaon or two the way I am going, good to go. By the way it was 0F in Utah and other guys feet were cold, but my method worked well. good luck, 10 fingers, 10 toes
I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues
