REI has a brief class, and Friends of Berthoud Pass does some avy education. Take an Avy 1 with Eli Helmuth at climbinglife.com or Markus Beck at Alpine World Ascents. Eli has one this weekend.

Another vote for Alpine World Ascents - Marcus and Mark Kelly are good, plus they do (or at leat used to) on-snows at Berthoud Pass which you have been posting about.

I'm doing my level one with them in a few weeks and can't wait! I've heard good things

Colorado Mountain School, which is part of the Boulder Rock Club, offers many dates throughout the winter. This is not where I've done my classes, but I've heard good feedback.

I'd also give awa a thumbs up. I took my level one with Markus last year and did an avy rescue course with Tim Brown at the beginning of this winter. Both awesome courses.

I took a class with Eli Helmuth and Mark Kelly a few years ago through CSM. They were both great educators.
