Intermediate /advanced snowboarder starting to do some BC in the Berthoud and Loveland area. I'm looking at getting some shoes, but dont even know where to start. Mostly a weight issue depending on size of the shoe correct? I weigh about 180, plus gear, and was looking at the MSR lightning ascents 25. Any suggestions of other shoes? or should those work. Im assuming I would use my board boots with those shoes correct?

I'd go with the 30's if you're into the lightning accents... If you are going out in the fresh stuff, you won't get much floatation with a board and pack on your back. Atlas 1230's would be a great shoe as well. Better bindings and better glide
