    advice on Armada ARV's

Hi guys, newbie here. I am an ex racer Slalom, GS, Super G, Downhill etc and would say I am an advanced skier. I have always skied on Fischer RC4's or Atomic SL's etc and love going fast!! I currently own the 08/09 RC4 Race SC Pros - Sweet.

    Weight: 187 pounds
    Height: 6"1

Anyhow, I am off to ski in Japan in 3 weeks and have just invested in a pair of Armada ARV's at 185cm 07/08 model (95mm underfoot). I know twin tips are supposed to be skied longer as there is not as much contact with the snow etc as with slalom or race skis but am worried the dude in the shop has just got rid of his last pair of Armada's on me and at 185 and they're too long!! Gotta admit I have never owned a pair before but he seemed to think they would be fine. I neglected to go for the 1080 foils or the K2 extreme's in place of the Armadas as I wanted something totally different to my Fischers and hadnt heard the best reports on those 2..

Want to be skiing in Park / Powder / and some groomers. just donjt want them to be too long

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers!

I have the 175cm arv´s as my tomfoolery ski.
You being taller and 40lbs heavier I would say that the 185 is the way to go unless you are living in the park.

The floggings will continue until morale improves.

If you raced speed events (FIS?) you can easily handle a 185cm 95mm waist ski in soft snow. In fact at your size I would recommend something bigger and wider for deep pow like you may get in Japan, Armada JJ 185 or ARG 185, K2 Hellbent 189 (much bigger) etc. Anyway I wouldn't be worried, you will have a blast and no problem handling those skis with your background.

I'm 5'7", 150 lbs on a good day, and I use 175 ARVs as my park ski. You'll be fine.

I have the 06/07 ARV (the graphic is a noodle) and they are WICKED soft. Very fun, playful...but I can't charge on them for the life of me. They're too choppy

However, I love them in the park and they're great in soft powder. I say go for them!
