that's bunk. the good thing about the alta/bird is that taxs are already included. i think that is how most resorts in this area are.

What day of the week do you get the "half off" with a competitors pass at Snowbasin?

Any recommendations for volunteer work at the other mountains (lcc) that would get me a pass or a one day a week deal? I’ll be collecting through the beginning and into midwinter..... so just looking for some variety until reality sets in, if you call working three days a week reality.

i had a sierra at tahoe /northstar pass last year cuz it was cheap but northstar sucks---big powder day and the lifts are not running...so this year it will be sugarbowl/kirkwood week pass for 400$

Big White raised their full pass to a $539CDN on early pricing. Getting some new terrain and lifts so it's all good.

WB "Edge" card - 5 days for $249CDN - decent discount on further day tix. WB's making flute in-bounds this year.

Making flute officially in bounds (it pretty much was anyway) is not a good thing. More people, more tracks = bad thing

That judgement depends highly on a person's perspective, I'm the guy who couldn't and wouldn't go there avy safety-wise and now can and will.

Sure it'll get tracked up more than it used to but vast majority of people'll be too lazy to slog it out there, especially further out.

Got the Mt. Rose pass -

it used to be that a ski pass at one resort would get you discounts at other resorts. Still true ? if so - name the names...

My Mammoth Mountain Season Pass (MVP) gets me half off at all other Intrawest-owned resorts (Whistler/B, Copper, Tremblant, etc).

There may still be a few. However, the discounts seem to be more restricted than they used to be. They seem to want to stay within their parent company (like Mammoth only w/Intrawest resort), wait until spring, or only be valid midweek (I think Mt. Rose is midweek only with a pass from another resort - something I'll have to take advantage of to ski the chutes).
I think that Alpine Meadows and Northstar give a break with a pass from another resort in the spring.
Sometimes even an out of state resort will give a discount (I was given half-day rate at Montana Skibowl with a Kirkwood pass).
Also, some passes allow for bringing in friends at a discount (A Kirkwood pass allows for at least 5 full-day tickets at half-day price).
You'll just need to check the resorts websites, make a call, or look for deals mentioned here. It also never hurts to ask. Please post the deals you find.

4,000 Calories of fuel=$8/day x 70 hopefull days = $560
Polaris on occasion=$7,000

So about $7,660, taxes not included.
