    ^^^Thanks CW
Love the clouds rolling in on your first shot. And nice game shots-looks like night shooting?

Thanks - have several versions of the cloud shot - would like to work on up to be a little brighter/more detailed in the clouds themselves. I shot in RAW but my ancient copy of Photoshop can't work with it so have to use the Nikon ViewNX software which is super limited in what it can do.

And yes, shot the game at night. ISO 3200 and f5.6-6.3 mostly with the 70-300 lens and wishing I had more shutter speed but beyond 3200 the grain starts to get *really* noticeable.

    Nice water!

    ^That's some purdy garlic.

We got to hear Damian Marley and Pretty Lights at A.C.L. for the price of a kayak rental last Friday. This was the view from the cheap seats.

When I got back home there was some snow up on the hills.

I liked the light on this one.

The 24-105 on my crop has been a pleasure. It is the first lens I've had with IS which lets me catch shots like this one in Glenwood on the fly. 5 seconds @ F5.6

Grabbing some sunrise turns on the Cedar a couple weeks ago. Gave the camera to a friend set wide open F4 1/4000th with ISO set to auto.

FIVE seconds, hand-held? You either have the world's steadiest hands or Canon's IS system blows the shit out of Nikon VR.

Yes. I do have the steadiest hands ever after two IPA's at the Pullman

Not exactly! Braced it against the bridge railing but I was using my hands to hold the angle. The bridge was bouncing all over in the wind so it wasn't like having it on a tripod. Unless someone tells me differently I don't think I get this shot without the IS.

Yeah, no way without the IS. That's damned impressive, even bracing on a bridge. I've successfully taken shots down to 1/15 hand held but never tried anything slower.

A couple from Oktoberfest in Munich Saturday

    Early morning on the Theresienwiese

The crowd waiting to get in to the Paulaner Tent

    Action on the midway

    Ferris Wheel cabins at Oktoberfest

All taken with a 24-105, by the way. I also had the circular polarizer on, hence the deep saturation in the pics.

A CPL is invaluable for outdoor shots. Seems to really come alive for me in the fall especially. Yesterday:

I dig it. Only thing that jumps out at me is your water mark. I'd move to the lower left corner. Just something about it being in all that black bugs me.
