People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

A couple from the night after that stellar SLC sunset. Possibly more to come...

MTCHAM---You get some really nice bird shots---lens???
" have another hit of sweet california sunshine"
Thanks, trying to shoot birds has been a huge challenge which I really like. I'm using a nikon 300mm f4 and a 70-200mm vrII either naked or with a 1.4x or 2.0x TC. Still trying to get it dialed. These are the poor man's bird lenses, would love to have one bigger and faster but can't justify the cost as it's mostly hobby with a bit of business.
This is a really good page
I'm not sure yet if I like either of these shots. The first I'm trying to like because it has some meaning to it with the condemned sign. The building in the reflection is a decently upscale townhouse whereas this is a foreclosed shithole. The second I just like the sky

I'm not a bird shooter, but after a few attempts at capturing the raptors that live near my house, I have huge respect for good bird shooters (and those shots of yours are good) -- it takes a lot of skill, very steady hands, and quick reflexes, all of which I'm lacking in.
Sorry....another dog shot.
