Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.</p>
Just looked out my window this morning and these big mushrooms were everywhere in my backyard!

We had a freak weather event here in the SE this weekend, winter moved in and some places in the mountains got big snowfalls. Mt Leconte in the Smokies got 22". I was hiking up this afternoon hoping for some great snow/fall colors shots and was "skunked". The hike we did starts in the lowlands and quickly climbs 1000+ ft up and over Shortoff Mountain and opens up to views of the high country via Linville Gorge. There was no snow in Linville Gorge but we were met with temperatures near freezing and winds that made it nearly impossible to stand safely at the gorge rim. This is a shot looking up at a nasty weather system moving into the high country.

The rain and wind really took it's toll on the leaves. The sun came out near the end of the hike and lit everything up, including this little tree.
