If you are going to steal photos, steal nice ones. Chainsaw, dig the second shot.

    thanks single.

angel03 - bad, very bad boy! No bone for you.

    These are from today:

I dig the way these two are like those optical illusions that make one side of the frame look longer than the other:

I went down to the water yesterday and ended up catching an amazing sunset.
No post work other than cropping and adjusted brightness on one.

I really like #4 from the railroad tracks. The seagulls bring up these shells and leave them everywhere.

    #1

    #2

    #3

    pmcgrath - #4 = two thumbs up.

supermodel & Redwolf - thank you! That's probably my favorite of the day too.

Redwolf - curious, what kind of pictures normally catch your eye? I'm always looking to expand my repertoire as I've done mostly nature & landscape work, so if you say something other than nature & landscape then I'll consider that a new challenge.

Heh. Nature and landscape, especially anything with dramatic lighting, is really my favorite (like yours in post #352). I guess what I meant with your shot is I'm not usually drawn to tighter building details, like your barn and windows, even though they might be really nicely done. There's typically just not enough in them for me to find them interesting. But I like how you composed yours with the lines and the old red paint - it has a lot for me to look at, and I found myself really studying the details.

I've enjoyed this thread for a while, so i'm humbly submitting a few of my own. I was going for the grainy, antique, documentary look or w/e with this, just to play with the extreme end of the effect. Constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks!

I like the look of those, very contrasty. Definitely looks like old-school B&W film but the subject matter doesn't really match the look of the pics if you know what I mean. Guys with helmets & climbing shoes top-roping with nylon ropes aint exactly OG. Get some guys with lederhosen, a hemp rope over their shoulder, a wood handled ice axe, waxed mustaches and hobnail boots and you'd be in business...

That said, I really like #2, you captured the feeling of concentration and strain perfectly in that one. That chick looks like she could kick my ass...

I know I've been putting up a lot of pics lately but I just got back from a ten day, 1700 mile road trip with about 6 gigs of pics... Here's a couple that really make you wonder about people.

Thanks for the feedback. I see your point, I was more focused on playing with that technique and using it to make the rock look cool, and missed how obviously the modern gear doesn't fit in.

Thanks for the tip. I tightened it up from the original, but I'll look into taking some of the foreground out.

One of the guys I was fishing with goes roughly 200 days a year for the past 10-12 years and it's the first time he saw one swimming. Seeing them on land isn't that rare around the 10,000 islands (southwest florida), but in water apparently is really rare. That cat was MOVING when we got the boat close to it.
