Hung out with my brother and his family at his weekend getaway. My parents have a summer site there too. I need to go more often.

Unfortunately there is a super ghetto camp site across the lake. I swear you can hear banjos at night.

I think you have me confused with someone who is far less awesome.

We've won it. It's going to get better now. You can sort of tell these things.

There's still a little snow at Whistler. This is from Pika's Traverse near the top of the Harmony chair.

Thanks. Spent about an hour at the feeder trying to get some upside down and "dogfighting" shots. They'd feed for a few seconds then were bombarded by the others. They're some aggro little fuckers.

7 days of walking around in the Pasayten Wilderness yielded wayyyyy too many pictures. Here's a set to start off with:

Looking at Fuzz's and Advres' shots it is readily apparent I need some new glass....

    Oh well...someday maybe.

We are but temporary visitors on this big blue ball we call Earth....

And this one isn't anything special; but I did think it was cool how some of the clouds were red/pink while the others in the background were still more or less white. Georgetown, CO a couple of nights back.

I got drunk watching the Sox beat the Rays in the makeup game today. Unfortunately I had to do something while we lost the second game....

powdork are you using a macro lens? exif data is showing me 40mm out to 160mm...just curious what lens if it is indeed a macro (I <3 macro)

i guess so. i just put em in manual and open up the aperture and get as close as i can get. i'm using the kit lens (efs 18-55 f/3.5-5.6) and the sigma DC 50-200 f/4-5.6 hsm. the kit lens has the macro symbol on it, the sigma does not.

Thanks advres! I feel the same way, it's not something I'm normally impressed with or would do, but when I was playing around with this pic in post it just jumped out at me.

I see I need to do just a little more work on it at the left edge of the frame...

ETA: So I took five minutes and did a little work with the cloning tool on the glasses at the left edge of the frame and it looks a lot better but I can't figure out how to get the image to update on this site. I deleted the original from my photobucket account and uploaded a new copy with the same filename and what's displaying here on TGR is still the old version, even though it's now linked to the new version. Will it eventually update or do I need to rename the file and create a new link?
