It's what I do when the clouds screw up my view of the mountain or the stars, or when I get bored and shoot in the back yard.

Fare-e-nuff. It looks cool when you can see the light it casts on the surroundings.

Two reasons why I love the 35mm f/1.4:
    - It's razor-sharp
    - It can make distracting backgrounds disappear into creamy bokeh

It is pretty much my walk-around lens now on the 5D Mk II.

My favorite shot from the weekend. I turned around to look back at my partner and noticed the late afternoon light was perfectly illuminating our entire route to the ridge below Black Peak (which we climbed).

ETA A couple more I like from that trip:

I unfortunately saw the light peeking in my blinds. I'm usually an 8AM waker but having nothing to do, crashing my bike yesterday and being mildly hungover I kinda can't sleep. So I hopped up to my roof to grab a quick snap. Wished it came out better but I don't have the patience or intestinal fortitude this early in the morning to compose a great picture...

Didn't mean to get the seagull in the shot. In hindsight I wished I upped the ISO and cranked my shutter speed to freeze the little fucker in the air. oh well, there's always tomorrow. Who am I kidding, I won't be awake at this time tomorrow!

Linhof Super Technika 23. I haven't put any film through it yet but I'm planning on taking it with me this weekend for some night shooting.

A couple from over the weekend

2nd image was at about 3am, which is why the sky is so dark. I love AK summers but always start missing normal dark nights this time of of the year.

We've won it. It's going to get better now. You can sort of tell these things.

Another amazing Sierra sunset photo from my trip up to Lee Vining Canyon earlier in the month

I can’t believe how interesting the colors were and how lucky I got with timing of diner at the Mo Mart Gas Station and then sitting around for 20 minutes on one of the campground turnouts along the 120. Sat there waiting and wondering if the clouds were going to do something magical with the color or was I wasting my time. I’m glad I stuck it out, because it sure wasn’t a waste of time.
