Advice on where to go for a quick, last minute ski trip

I am stuck near Winnipeg for the holidays and want to get out and get a few days skiing but haven't been watching the conditions. Where has got decent bases and/or snow in their forecasts? Ideally it should be not too difficult to get to from Winnipeg making Canadian resorts best and it should be accessible by Airport. Whistler and Banff are obvious choices. I was also wondering about the interior. I grew up skiing Red and Whitewater so I know how to get there. How are the conditions? What about the other interior or Rocky Mtn resorts? Are there any that are getting good snow that are easy to fly to? Thanks

Is there an easy way to fly to mammoth? I was thinking of bringing my bro along, do Canadians need passports now?

Horizon fly's directly into Mammoth via LAX, but in all honestly Stunt, LAX will be a cluster fuck, and with the storm hitting as we speek, I would expect serious delays. Although 45+ sounds good, Mammoth can be brutal with the crowds over the holidays so be warned.

Other option, is to get a flight into Reno, and rent a car. But, if what the say is true, there could be hwy closures on 395 between Reno and mammoth.

Oh yeah, not sure on the passport dealio.

Utah is getting consistent pukeration for the next week from what I understand (on top of the past week's puke fest). Getting to the goods from SLC couldn't be easier--especially when compared to getting to Mammoth.
