Im 5 10 160lb and im thinking of getting the 179's. ive read a bunch of posts here but none really seem to specify how these things work on the EC. Is there anyone here that skis these at jay or stowe that could tell me how they handle in real tight trees and shit conditions? I know they will rip on the good days but how do they do when the woods are bumped and u gotta hit tight turns in the trees.

I ski them at K-ton, Stowe & Mad River. Great ski and pivots well in the trees. Not sure what you mean by "shit" conditions but they handle everything well. I'm the same height but 10-15lbs heavier and ski next size up b/c they ski short.

I'm the same ht/wt and have the 179s. I haven't skied them EC, but I have used them in far-less-than-ideal conditions and they've been great. I'd say they've been awesome in any condition besides pure ice. Other than that, open bowls, groomers, steeps, bumps, trees, whatever - they'll be fine. As far as length you could probably go either way (179 vs 186), but if you're planning on using them in tight situations stick with the 179s.

    I just got the 179s. I am 6-1 170 but...
    I don't mind my 172 chronics
I have Bacons for real powder days
and I just want something to take in the trees when its been a day or two without snow that can also handle bumps in MJ
