File under: Unsmart things done, but totally worth it

Went for a night ride tonight (yeah there is night in July) only amost got hit once, took a ride up skyline drive, which is a 6 Km climb going 1500-2000 feet vert (not quite sure) averaged about 7 kph on the climb wich isn't good but it was fun, hurt pretty bad because this was my first hillclimb, tested my new bike computer too oh and the down hill was fun hit 49 kph wich isn''t overly fast but for dark and raining, not bad. oh and I took some pictures

    On the road up

So when are you going to learn to convert the bike computer to mph?

Dude, that's pretty harsh. I thought I was pretty happy in SW Colorado, but after seeing this photo of Anchorage I am out of here.

AKPM, you can't have it both ways, it's either all metric or imperial measurements, miles and feet or kilos and meters.

I never thought my 400th post would be in a thread started by AKPM, but nice summertime stoke man. I wish I had a view like that from my house and someplace as amazingly beautiful AK to enjoy year-round. Way to keep the summertime stoke alive dude.

I don't get it. You went for a ride, blacked out, and woke up fishing?

Well I did it again tonight, decided to leave earlier so I would not run out of light, got up to the top and saw a buddy of mine's truck called his cell he was the rest of the way up the mountain with his GF I started hiking the unbikeable mountain and met him at half way road down following his car, hitting 56 KPH wich scared the shit out of me because rim brakes suck... Hung out with Caleb and Lisa for a bit and road home at about midnight in the dark ran out of light again, didn't almost get hit this time though, took a side road, wich was way fun. Had a better average speed by about 3 KpH too, wich made me happy, I want to get to the point where I can making it all the way up the mountain in a hour with my bike..

Oh ttook some way better pictures:

Nice Clouds on the way up

    49 kph = 29.4 mph

You redeemed yourself on the photos. Are you going to fix your computer and start using MPHs?

if you got metric, go all metric, Metres, kilometers, dont talk about going 35km/h on a 20 mile ride, all that is is confusing. On that note, I too have forsaken english units for the metric system. It just makes more sense.
