    Jackson- better

things are looking better- knock on wood- for the tetons. who knows how much will actually come- but its promising and the best yet we've seen. again, knock on wood.
60 hours of potential and likely snowfall. they've been talking about this for days. looks about an inch of liquid precip friday-monday (possibly more locally) with pretty cold temps- it could be pretty ok.

    for the mountains:

Friday: A 40 percent chance of snow, mainly after 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 26.

Friday Night: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 14. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Saturday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 17.

Saturday Night: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 5.

Sunday: Snow likely. Cloudy and cold, with a high near 9.

Sunday Night: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around -2.

Monday: Snow likely. Cloudy and cold, with a high near 7.

It's a wee bit too cold for optimal snowfall. (anti Jinx)

the most important part is the liquid precip that comes- it builds overall base- especially below 7500' where its really needed. yeah, you're not getting dendrite formation at those low temps in, esp. in the upper atmosphere. but its early, and the more moisture that falls, the better. it all consolidates in the end, and we need snowpack (on top of the sketchy shit thats already here).

Models are starting to diverge-GFS shows Tetons in the bullseye of flow but EURO shows main energy of storm tracking south down coast to enter continent at a point that puts Tetons in the dry and warm northeastern quadrant of the cyclonic rotation. Could be the difference between a huge dump in the Tetons or one that nails the Wasatch and West Slope CO instead. Too much positive talk may be activating the jinx-time to focus on the negative(sure worked on monday!) As much as we have prayed for this high pressure ridge to clear out, we don't want it to retrograde out so far that it steers all the short wave energy to southern cali.

To the Tetons, no. Eleventh season.

To compulsive internet time wasting, yes. 10 posts and already losing interest in pointless pissing contests over who has been in this forum the longest. Invitation revoked-stay in your own hut with the all the jong's from IF and Poky. We don't need anymore dirtpimps at the 'Ghee.

It looks to me like its going to be a pretty decent storm. It should be cold too. It will be interesting to see what happens in the snowpack if it stays cold.

good for you. really, good for you. you should probably start your own little thread about AK snow- cause everyone knows it snows there. jackass.

we're gonna get some snow tonight. GFS shows about under an liquid inch, NAM well over an inch. NWS is calling for 1" of liquid for the tetons through saturday PM. top it off with lingering snow showers sunday daytime, and then

ANOTHER DEEP UPPER LOW WILL MOVE SOUTHWARD FROM SOUTHWESTERN
BRITISH COLUMBIA INTO THE PAC NW SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY. THIS
SYSTEM WILL BRING ZONAL FLOW ALOFT AND INCREASING PAC MOISTURE TO
WESTERN WY SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY WITH LIGHT...UPSLOPE SNOW
    EXPECTED.

so a pretty decent round of snow...

    hard telling, not knowing.

the consensus is that every day there will be places that will be safer than others. Your job, if you choose to accept it, is to find these places.
