Add another 'prop' to the tally from me.

That's one pic closer to being a full-time photog, right?

What rate of publishing does it take to be considered a full-time professional ski photographer (ie you make you living mainly from your photos)? Do you only need a few shots published every month? 10 shots? 20 shots?

    Just curious.

Lots and lots and lots. I doubt that with all that Gunderson just quoted that he had published, that that would even come close to covering film costs alone. Right Grant.

    BOC, not BOC you dumbass

We're talking Back Of Canyon, not the "other" BOC...the one where Dean was a punk and couldn't get out of bed and you were nowhere to be seen.

Talking about BOC and BOC... I would have loved to "straightline" the BOC of that vintage groupie at the show. Heh... "maybe he like oldah women"
Putting the "core" in corporate, one turn at a time.

Im lucky in that I get a VERY good deal on film and processing, and my ratio of rolls to publsihed shot is good, but I defntly am not making egnough to shoot full time as in shooting 247 and not doing any other manuel labor on the side. But with a few more photo sales, and saving up every cent that I make working two jobs, I MAY beable to shoot full time this winter.

As far as number of shots that you would need to have publsihed every month to shoot full time, and not have to work any other job, it is probally around 15 to 20, and that is if there published a minum of full page each, and at one of the higher paid mags.

But I live pretty frugally, so this number is probally a lot hire for most and that is only based upon six months, so if you dont want to work another job in the summer, you need to have an equall number of shots publsihed in sumer mags.
