edit: BTW - Someone contributed early on in our efforts to get the skis built and tested by sending us a bunch of demo bindings. That person had a desire for the softest pair of brotos we made. For his outstanding contribution to the BroModels and brotherhood in general, I'd like to tell mtnlion that his free pair of softies are waiting for him.
Thanks, mtnlion, for being a Model Bro.
Yo, Tippster, glad to see you made it!!! Got your order, too, Fieldys. Like I said, we're rushing to get a couple pair done for Argentina, so we'll have pics of some finished BroModels before we leave, and get to sending them out when we get back from the exotic location catalog shoot.
We at about 28 now with a bunch more orders on the way via check, wire transfer, and Pony Express. We'll be meeting tomorrow to discuss when and if there will be time to do another run, as the shop schedule is getting pretty full.
I think a grudge race between Uber and DJ would be the ultimate way to start the new season.
FYI-
On another note: Just went through all the scheduled jobs in the shop today with the man in charge and we're looking at October 1 to start shipping because I added a couple design changes to the skis - cosmetic and durability changes with an edge wraparound on the tail and cutting the topsheet back, just a skosh, from the sidewall to prevent the edges from slicing those beautiful graphics.
I thought we'd be able to get them in the air the first week of September, but October 1 is more realistic.
There might be room for Tom to jump on the production crew when he gets here. Couldn't think of a more perfectionistic, conscientious, capable, can-do maggot to have hands-on involvement in the project.
I'm currently lobbying to get him hired and am really hoping this works out.
But good spam. Everyone is soooooo stoked about these skis. Including the PM Gear crew. We're putting four pair together for the Argentina trip this week and will have shots of those biatches as soon as they're together. We kinda had to grind some other projects to a halt to do this and I'm getting mucho shit for messin with the shop schedule, but we expect to have shots of the ski in a Powder ad slated for the December issue.
With this first run nearly sold out, we're looking to do another 50, in case anyone is waiting for photos and reviews. We'll post lots of those from Ushuaia if we can load pics onto a computer there.
Thyey're light - but I haven't weighed them to the decimal points yet.
( Bathroom scales are highly unreliable at times like this). Best guess is 3 - 3.25 lbs/ski.
