    Anyone surf ST. Thomas (U.S.V.I.)

Heading down to St. Thomas in Jan. for a week. I have found a couple spots that could be producing ride able waves. Anyone surf down there that can provide some good info. and access points? Been looking at Hull Bay, Water Island, and botany bay.

    much appreciated.

    3 decades late, dollar short.........

Hull bay went out with nicklebags and puka beads. Carrot bay is flat rock because the locals had a summer party and smashed the bullwinkles with sledgehammers after a cookout. Pretty much, go to Tortola, and fight the fake brits. You'll do better than getting beat by Frenchies trying to find a wave in the land of crack....

So there is potentially no where to surf on this island. I was curious if there was any surf on those two islands north of St. Thomas...I believe they are called inner brass and outer brass. Thought about renting a small fishing boat and heading out there.

not alot of surf in the USVI as there are alot of islands and atolls that block the swells. there is a small rock reef on st. John at cinnamon bay?. ( It may be beach next to cin). it's not huge but have seen peps surf it with a south swell. I hear tortolla is the best place in that area for surf. its BVI so bring passport, takes about couple hours by ferry, i believe.

TORTOLA IS DEFINETELY THE PLACE TO GO IF YOUR TEHRE IN THE WINTER, BUT THERES WAVES TO BE HAD IN USVI, I SURFED THERE WHEN I WAS IN THE COAST GUARD AND MY SHIP STOPPED OVER FOR A DAY, LOOK AT THE SWELL DIRECTION THEN PUT IN YOUR LEG WORK CHECKING SPOTS AND BE RESPECTFUL.

ANYBODY FROM ANYPLACE ELSE IN THE WORLD BE PREPARED FOR ONE OF THE CRAZIER DRIVING EXPERIENCE YOULL EVER HAVE. DRIVING IS ON THE LEFT LIKE IN ENGLAND, BUT ALL THE VEHICLES ARE AMERICAN WITH THE STEERING WHEEL FOR RIGHT HAND TRAFFIC
