    Exclamation Jackson Summit activities

    Jackson Summit Itinerary

Perhaps this is a bit early in the planning process, but I would like to get an idea as to what people want to do at next years summit.

As far as skiing goes we have Jackson Hole, Grand Targhee, possible night skiing at Snow king (the town hill – steepest hill in America per acre!) and if you want some road tripping, Big Sky Mountana is 3 ½ hours away according to map quest.

With TGR in our backyard there is a very good chance of these activities being joined with the likes of Dirk Collins, Micah Black and other Jackson area skiers that can show us plenty of terrain to make us wish we never heard of Jackson Hole.

Then there is back country skiing which must be a bit more regulated and broken down into manageable group sizes, there is snowmobiling in Yellowstone if that’s your thing, anything I’m missing?

Night activities – Base camp will probably be the Mangy Moose, and I will see what I can do about scheduling a maggot night and maggot specials. I will throw down at least once and have a party at my place, and perhaps others will volunteer their residences.

Anything else you want to see? This is your summit, lets make it one we wished we could remember.

For those of you who long to see the goods beyond the ropes at Jackson Hole, be it Cody Peak, 4 pines, or beyond this summit is an ideal time to do so.

We should have a bevy of locals who ski the mountain everyday and are intimate with the avy conditions, risks and terrain that we will encounter.

Jello, can be provided with battery packs, but if you want it fully functional you'll have to bring your own extension cord.

    ski JH
    ski JH backcountry
    ski teton pass
    ski targhee

possibly ski togwatee pass (snomo access day?)
    possibly ski big sky

    drink at the Moose

eat one night at Bubbas BBQ with the entire crew, that would be sweet

I'm planning on roadtripping in through BZN, so I may hit Bridger or Big Sky along the way in and the way out

Would it be possible to set up car shuttling teams up on Teton pass?

I'd love to hit the pass for at least one day. Had some of my best days of skiing ever on teton pass. No real need to figure out a shuttle, just park at the top, ski out and hitch. Send the drivers up to get the cars and go get everyone else.

I could skip Targhee unless it gets hammered, but even then only if JH doesnt. Place gets pretty boring after a while.

I would really like to explore the jh ob more. It was limited access and poaching when i lived in jh. I could spend most of my time out there and be very happy.

As far as snowmobiling goes, i have a buddy who is a sledneck and lives down toward Alpine. I think his sister in law has a rental operation, so if we get a count on who is interested and how many sleds we already have (ill probably try to bring mine) I could see what I can set up.

For this crew, i'd really reccommend not going 'biling in the park. Have to stay on the roads, obey speed limits, stuff like that which seems not to fit the temperament of the average maggot.

word, I'll bringing my sled down from Bozeman if the plans and peeps warrant. I should be getting pretty dialed on it by then. MT is also thinking of buying a sled before winter.

I think Yossarian hit it on the nose. Personally, I'm really interested in hitting up the backcountry for at least a day, but I'm relatively inexperienced in the bc, so if someone's willing to show the area ... that would be awesome.

**I don't want to finalize any plans until early January, but is anyone from Utah offering rides up to JH around the earlier part of the summit? I was thinking of maybe flying into SLC, ski for 1-2 days, and then hit up JH. (Definitely want to do the dinner with everyone at that BBQ place). Is anyone in the area planning on doing something like this and could offer a ride for 1-2 people up to JH? That would be awesome. Just curious. Otherwise, I'm renting some sort of badass vehicle to carry us up there. Or, there's always a shuttle bus.

I really want to ski and then jump off stuff and ski soft snow and get scared sometimes. and then jump off more stuff and then drink after skiing and then eat something followed by a bowel movement. then I want to ski some more and jump off more stuff into soft snow. then i want to drink. then i want the drinking to lead to some sort of elk herd shenanigans then I want to have the antler hole in my chest sewed up by medical professionals.

    Great plan!

The Doctors in Teton County can be pretty cool. I thought I had a broken neck and they were like, "You have to stay in the Hospital for two days or pay for a cat scan." No Insurance....so
They let me slide with a free cat scan of my bone spurred 3 vertebrae.

How about a reserved first tram ride for maggots only? This would take some politics, but it would be a good challenge for someone with diplomatic expertise.

    After the lifts close:
    - Avy / BC safety / routefinding "class/discussion"
    - Filming / photography "class/discussion"
    - At least 2 big ass parties

And honestly, a good event for charity would just be the bee's knees. Does TGR have a fav charity?

The vertical challenge at Red worked really well two years ago. If you guys could set something up where you get to cut the tram line and people take pledges per vertical foot skiied, that would rock.

    Freak,

Did you buy a RMK 700 or something?

Summit day #1: A day on the pass with the rest of the world.
#2: Pack a megamid and head up to the lower
    saddle conditions permitting.
#3: Conditions permitting, climb the Owen Spalding
on the Grand and ski from 13k to 7k.
#4: Rest day for the old man.
