    Be careful

Hearing all these snow totals from berthod and Loveland and Vail is starting to drive me crazy(happens every year). Snow is still very thin in the western san Juans. Last storm had some localized heavy snow but telluride eked out 14 inches during the week. Looks like we are going to be high and dry for at least another week. Toured up by San Barnardo yesterday and was surprised with the lack of snow. Maybe 18inches(good turns on a supportable base). In reality I would not touch the front range or I 70 areas with a ten foot pole but id love some of there snow. Let it fuckin snow dammit.
    that is all

I know it is such a bummer over here on the Western Slope. I have been down to summit county the last two weekends, one for ice climbing, the other for a cross country ski race and see all of the snow they have. Once I get back to Crested Butte where I have a pass all I see is a couple inches of snow and 4 runs open.

just spent a week in the SanJunas. skied some suuuppper deep tree shots off red Mtn Pass (TR coming). Try the pass, its game on.

Silverton was thin though but should be much better after the Monday storm and even better with this weeknds storm.

I've stopped believing Silverton... no matter which storm it is, they always end up with more than anyone else.

    Reporting

I bet if you mesured the snow in revalation bowl we would have got way more then reported. Telluride almost always under reports. On tuesday they reported 7 inches but there was well over a foot on most of the mountain
I dont have enough experience with silverton but they average probably 40 percent more then tride

    Silverton update:
Just skied Fri, Sat, Sun. Lots of folks up for the last weekend of unguided. Pretty good skiing, but the mountain is now mostly tracked out. Rope dee dope chutes have about one day of snow left, then you'll have to hike to Billboard to get fresh snow, although it is still good up that high and they were blasting most of the super high terrain. Bottom line- wait until they get another 12+ inches unless you really want to hike and ski the top of the mountain.
