CC sucks.

Well mom and dad, I've thought about it for a long time and 30 anonymous people on the internet have told me that Colorado Springs fucking SUCKS for skiing and going to kolije so I'm going to go somewhere else.
You can see the thread if you want through AOL Nanny State Internet Software

Actually, their WFR, OEC, EMT-B, and Paramedic classes and programs are some of the best around. Their outdoor leadership program at the Timberline Campus is extremely well regarded.
I think max wants to be a doctor, not a boy scout.

Actually I just told my mom 10 minutes ago about a lot of you guys' input on Colorado Springs. She was a little disheartened to say the least...

I wouldn't go around demeaning EMT's and Paramedics as "boy scouts." One might save your life. The doctors sure as hell don't hold them in poor regard. You'll find that most doctors know/remember very little prehospital emergency care ((ER types usually excluded, and EMT-Bs and Ps know little about Doctors' hospital care). Many ER-Docs and ER-RNs were paramedics before heading to nursing/medical school (St. Anthony's Chief of Neurosurgery for example, started as a EMT-B, then became a Paramedic). In fact, it is recommended by many that people wanting to go into emergency medicine have two years field experience as an paramedic. Real world field experience is priceless.Originally posted by CantDog

But in all fairness, CMC is a trade school. Its a two year college which offers associates degrees, not bachelors. Max would have to transfer to Boulder anyway to finish his degree.(Colorado Statewide Guaranteed Transfer Program)
Hehe... absolutely! CMC is a Community College, a Junior College, a 2-year school. He would get his AS and transfer to Boulder under the guaranteed transfer profram (or DU, CC, etc). What it would do is let Max get in buku skiing during his less intensive and less important Fresh (and Soph) general ed years where he would likely skip class anyhow and he can still come out with a 4.0 and get good education in the classes he really needs it in so long as he puts in the effort.Originally posted by CantDog

That could be a really good thing at a place like Boulder. Go there for a semester to make sure I like it and then apply for residency for 5 or 6 semesters. In state tuition is literally 1/6 of out-of-state at Boulder. (3 grand versus like 19, no lie).
That's a big "whew." I feel better.
And on the emergency med situation... I respect paramedics. A LOT. Those guys have it tougher than the doc's do most times. I mean a doc (surgeon) is in a pretty friendly, controlled (relative to a Paramedic) environment deciding what he's gonna do instead of having someone's life on the line, ready to go at any minute if he makes even the most minute mistake. EMT's are leet. Period.
P.S. My dad is from Maryland. No southern accent.
P.P.S. I'm still gonna beg for a visit to U of U. Doubt I'll get it, but it never hurts to ask.
