    Question Delam Question

OK, I bought some T@nkers off of the Kneissl rep last year. They were a demo ski and thus were 2nd hand. I skied them this year and loved them, however the tip started to delam right where it meets the running surface after 5 days of light skiing (personally I think they were already starting to go but not visible at the time). To clarify: the tips of the tips is fine, it is just at the curvature. I talked to the rep and he said to send them in at the end of the year and they would be replaced.

I sent them in and had not heard from the guys in 3 months so I called them. It turns out that they are not replacing them, they sent them to a ski repair shop and apparently they have been epoxied and clamped.

My question is this: Is this going to hold together or is it doomed to split in the first 5 days of action and thus leaving my SOL for a long time while I wait for the skis to be replaced/repaired again?
Will the fact that water got into the core during the season affect the repair job or the ski integrity it in the future?

It should hold, If not dry it out over a hot air vent overnight and tape the area to prevent over filling and buy some 24 hour JB weld.

Also come up to banff and see me and I can help ya fix it too.

Thanks dude. I still avhe not gotten them back yet so I will have to see what kind of job they did. If they don't hold I am going to send them back since the guy said that they have a few extra pairs still sitting around.

    Oarhead,

Do you still have the contact info for the Kneissl rep? I haven't been able to get a response out of them for months with a warranty question.

    Thanks.

I live in calgary so I don't think that you would be able to talk to the guy seeing that you are in the US of A. The shop that is doing warranty stuff in canada is in vancouver: Mordo and sons. I don't have a number on me unfortunately. Apparently Roces (rollerblade people) are the suppliers for north america but I have never had to go further than the local dude. Sorry I can't help you more.
