    new road bike

    stoked!

    been dying the past few weeks not being able to ride my SuperLight 'cause of this damn shoulder injury (any sort of shocks & what not still kill)......but at least it was enough to get me over the hurdle and finally pick up a roadie. My credit cards aren't talking to me anymore however

    took the first spin on it last night and hoollllliie crap.....gotta love how fast you get going on smooth asphalt. could definitely get addicting

    Nice ride.

    I have ended up spending half my time on the road and half the time on the dirt. Love the phsical challenge of climbing mtns and then bombing the descents.

    Yeah the all back rules. very stealth...'cause lord knows I attract enough attention the way it is in my hot pink lycra and the flower pot I ride around with in my backpack with the 3 foot tall daisies, so yah, stealth was key when selecting the bike.

    did I just say that in my out loud voice?

    It's carbon with ultegra parts 'cept for the FSA carbon crank.

    Threw some Speedplay pedals on for their float.

    I was tempted to step up to dura-ace...but 'christ that shizz is expensive and I don't plan on racing or anything...just logging a ton of miles.

    yeah, Specialized offers both options, but the LBS only had the triple in stock and since they're having their annual season ending sale and it was 15% off, I'm not complaining.

    uhhh..yeah its the roadie is a Specialized Rubaix....the bike I haven't been able to ride is my Santa Cruz Superlight....

    ...the Superlight rocks for XC obviously, but oftentimes find myself wanted just a little bit more travel.

    Well, yeah, sorta, but just imagine allowing all types of snow vehicles going every which way (from sleds to groomers, some real fast right next to you, drivers drunk, talking on a cell, or changing a CD) as you negotiate said groomers.
    And there are no lifts.

    Do you ride the bike trail? I'm out there every day so hopefully we'll run into each other (figuratively). I'll be on a purple Rex or, after tomorrow, a blue Rex F.G. (it's like functional art work). I'm only seven weeks past knee surgery with 3 rides under my belt. So, I'm limited to about 50 miles (because my left leg does 90% of the work). I'm easy to recognize. If you see a guy with one normal size leg and one 8 yr.-old girl size leg (atrophy).... that's me. Oh, and don't tell my P.T. because I'm not suppose to be on the road for 9 more weeks. Pfffffft.

    yup! since I'm up in folsom, i'm usually riding some sort Lake Natoma loop variation. I'll probably be down there a lot more lately. We should meet up one of these days.
