This is an old problem, probably at least a year or so that it has been happening.
Occasionally clicking on a youtube link will get me precisely 2 seconds of play time. The rest of the vid load in the red status bar, but won't play. If I go externally to youtube, it still will only then give me two seconds of play. Same thing for a new window.
Occasionally if I close my browser (Firefox) and re-load, it will all be fine, no cookies deleted etc. Just close the browser and re-open. Sometimes that does not work, and nothing will seem to make it work.
I give up, come click again a few days later, all is fine. Totally random. But, it is always two seconds, no more no less, if it stops. The large majority of the time, the whole vid plays as per normal.
I understand this is low priority, just wondering if there is a simple fix I am not seeing. It has been happening for long enough that there have been a few version upgrades to Firefox, so I don't know if my version is relevant, but I am currently on:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.18) Gecko/20081029 Firefox/2.0.0.18
I think this is a flash problem, not a browser problem. Try googling-- should bring up some potential solutions. I did this at one point but couldn't make sense of the solutions so I gave up.
I used to have this problem a lot but haven't seen it in a few weeks. Not sure what happened to make it go away. Maybe a flash update?
