Rose Takes $200 in 2nd Annual Downhill Frenzy Bike Race
Big Time Bikers Give Silverton Mountain Two Thumbs Up
July 18, 2004 Silverton, Colorado—Silverton Mountain hosted the 2nd annual Downhill Frenzy bike race to over 30 exited mountain bikers. Riders traveled from as far as Arkansas to test their skills on Silverton Mountain’s steep bike trails. Chris Rose, Durango local, hit up the trails a few weekend before the race and proved that practice makes perfect. He speed down the trail in 6 minutes taking home $200 in cash from Pedal the Peaks.
Myles Rockwell, Durango local and former World Champion commented, “it is the best downhill course I have ever ridden”.
Silverton Mountain is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 9am-3:30pm for scenic sky rides and biking throughout the summer. Special thanks goes out to Pedal the Peaks and all the Silverton volunteers. There was over $1000 in raffle prizes from local Silverton/Durango businesses for racers and volunteers so everyone walked away a winner.
