I'm not gonna be able to make the Jackson Summit, but we're planning on going to the Utah mini barring any major obstacles. So count me in!

I can't really weigh in much on when would be best condition-wise b/c this will be our first time in Utah. I'd welcome suggestions on where to stay and such.

And I'm bringing the kid this time. He's still mad that he missed Tahoe!

There is a lot of info from last year's Mini:

    http://tetongravity.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=5482&highlight=Utah+Min i

THe first post has a lot of links to lodging. Most stayed in Sandy, the Best Western and that seemed to be great for access to LCC and BCC (ALta, Bird, Solitude). Then you can travel north about an hour to Snowbasin in Ogden. We shall see later what the schedule turns out to be. If we do have it early in the season, Basin does have snowmaking capabilites, thus that much more base under powder ( ).

Let me know if you want more details, as this years crowd may need other accomodations than last year.

Hope to finally meet up with a bunch of the mags this year, 'bout time.

Ummmm, the cooler you said to "get rid of cause you never wanted to see it again" cooler? With all the moving stuff, I actually gave it to a friend who is now in Kansas City.

Bump, yet again. Should I bother to start a poll about when people wanna have this thing? That may be a good way to get people into it and thinking about it. Whoever has taken charge, let me know.

I am usually in charge of this adventure, at least have been the last two years. Pending a mutiny, I plan to stay the organizer of said event with the help of my cohort in crime, Altachic, the second in command.

You are welcome to contact me via PM or email : buzzworthyski@yahoo.com

Sure, by all means start a poll. Keep in mind it is 90 degrees and July still so I would not expect huge results, but some initial beta would be good.

Half the people who came last year made the trip within 2 weeks of making the decision to come, FYI.

I do like the stoke I already see though, the usual suspects and some new ones as well.

Poll away my good man. I'll even vote.

Haha, sounds good buzz. I'm sweating my ass off here and the only thing that gets me through the days is hoping that this thing goes off big time and that my dad and I can finally make it to a Summit. A poll can never hurt, so you'll see one up here shortly.

    I'm in for sure.

Trackhead, a day on the sled/cat would be sweet. Looking forward to that.

Since I have a month off from work in late December-early Jan., I vote for the week after the New Year. Had some great days up at Snowbasin around this time last year.

Depending on low elevation snowfall amounts, I would like to scratch one final nemesis from my Wasatch list. I could finally sleep at night if it was completed. Billygoaters: Don't forget your harness when you arrive in Utah.

I'll shack up with Sandy for the weekend.

Seriously, I'll try to be there but don't make the dates too close to Christmas (or any any other holiday for that matter). The wife and kids want to have me at home for the obligatory Santa duties and family/work parties. Of course I'm only one of many putting in my $.02. I'll still get out to UT sometime over the winter.

PS: In case my wife ever searches this thread out, Just kidding about shacking up with Sandy.
I should probably change my username to IReallyDon'tTeleMuchAnymoreDave.

    Late March? For "the Kid"?

The old man and I were thinking of making the Bird a tradition. Spring Break time last week of March. If you guys are there, I would love to know ahead of time. I'm (yes here comes the obligatory phrase) down like a clown if the dates coincide.

I vote for mid-March (12th-20th) or early January (pre 24th). But I'm a selfish college student and will be there on one or both of the dates regardless of a summit...
