The first sem-final today was unfreakingbelievable. The waves were clean and big, just tube after tube. Was out yesterday evening and it was pancake flat, so I didn't think it would come in so big today. This morning was brutal too. Still, the final was solid, but the first semi was incredible. Some people were calling it one of the best four-man heats ever surfed.
Poking through some of the pics on there, this is the first time I've ever seen a pic of a "normal" sized wave with the caption stating the size of that wave, measured Hawaiian-style.
Caption: "The conditions are 2-3 feet and clean today."
My God, that's 2-3 feet? Then I was definitely killing it on some 9-12 inchers when I was out in Hawaii this summer...
