    Unhappy

I wish I knew what to tell you, endless.

Starting tomorrow there'll be three solid nights with temps cold enough to blow snow. So maaaaaybe they could open on Sunday. I just don't know. Surely they will open next week.

It seems there would be enough snow to poach on Saturday. I guess it would be safest to try to get away with late in the day, maybe even after dark (headlamps?). I can't risk getting in trouble over there, although maybe I could be persuaded to hike up at A Basin.

But if you've got a couple hundred feet guaranteed hikable in Oregon, that might be your safest bet...

And there is St Mary's to consider, but it sucked pretty bad when I went in September. And there's that big creek running underneath.

Do you guys think there's anything left up on Rollins pass?

Thanks, SheRa. I'm asking for info on Hood to help make a decision.

    PDX, here I come...

Well, with about 30 hours before flight time it looks like Denver is not gonna have anything open. Neither will Hood, but Timberline looks like my best bet. It's either that or this little streak comes to an end. That would really be stupid, especially considering what I had to do to keep it going after the July surgery.
So, in the absence of any last-minute delta on the beta, I guess I'll be skiing Mt. Hood again the day after tomorrow.

Hot tub's busted right now, but I'll get crack'in on it if I know your heading over! Remember, suits are optional. Although not for Duphphy. He's gotta wear one.

I'll be in Summit Co. when I get laid off. That probably won't be until December. Until when are the Loveland passes onsale? Um, ahem, er.. know any insider deals?

    Smile

Technology is a wonderful thing. I'm sitting in a plane on a runway, putting a message into a 21st century bottle and sending it out to anyone in the world who knows how to pick it up. In a bit more than an hour I'll land several hundred miles away where I'm going to go ski a volcano, have lunch at one of my favorite chinese restaurants, and be home for dinner with my family.
It never ceases to amaze me.

Hope you're also having a wonderful day.

Oh I did. The shake, skiing, chinese, etc. Unfortunately, no time for my favorite Dim Sum place, but the Double Dragon in Sandy was good. I'm already back home.
I'll be danged if that wasn't the sorriest snow I've ever seen on Hood. 70 inch base my butt. We gots to do some serious prayin' folks. It's horrible (pictures coming). I had to gain oveq 1000 vert ft to get enough snow to string together a few dozen turns.
We've got to get some good years. Wow.

    Wink Hood Horror

The images linked to this link are so shocking, so disturbing, and so full of horror that you may need to hold onto something. Don't say I didn't warn you.

    When will this nightmare end...

Thanks for the pics, endless. Really great you got your day in. I just had my first 12 months of skiing and it's a good thing. Your turns looked better than mine on St Mary's last month. The snow I skied on was pretty much black and totally flat, well except for the knee-deep suncups.

And thanks for giving me a craving for dim sum. It's been at least a year.

I've been driving past Loveland and A Basin every day. The guns are really going now, even during the day. Also fired up at Keystone and Breckenridge. We should be skiing this week. And there might even be some snow from the sky. /nojinx

Uber, I think the Loveland passes stay on sale at the same price, but I'm really not sure. You know the best I can do is a comp hookup, but that's not for people that need to be buying their pass anyways.

Went to the Berthoud estate sale yesterday and scored tele skis and bindings. Now all I need is some boots and some mad skillz.
