Where would one ski in Colo next Saturday?

    Coloraddy locals-
If you were someone with say, oh...I dunno...limited time and a knee recovering from ACL surgery, where would you ski along I-70 next Saturday? A-Basin, Loveland, Keystone or Copper (will those last two even be open)?
It would have to obviously be groomed intermediate terrain, not too crowded on the slopes, and not boxed in with traffic (have to be at DIA by 5PM).

    Suggestions?

Loveland and A-Basin say they will be open next friday but it looks grim.
    Copper Mountain Nov 1
Keystone - Nov 15 (they stopped competing for first open)

    Ron,
Loveland looks pretty promising. Did you look at their web site?
    http://www.skiloveland.com/snowmaking/default.htm

Some of the photos make it look like they're going to be ready to me. Of course, the last photo is only from about half way down. I wonder what things looks like at the base?

Oops, I see there is a webcam right at the base. Yeah, looks like they've got some work to do there

Yikes AD. I just checked out the pics. Well, it looks like it'll have to be Loveland anyway.
Anyone know if it's supposed to stay cold enough this coming week to continue to make snow?

OK. I just rolled the dice and picked DIA over PDX. It's a done deal.
Flight and car rental booked and paid. Now all I need is a week of low temps at the continental divide. [crossing fingers]

Loveland has 3/4 of their trail ready. All they need is about 2 cold nights to cover that last stretch. They'll be ready to go by Friday.

If you hang around for the weekend you may even get some real snow.

I'll be there!!! Saturday I have to wear the jacket and prolly just stand around and tell people to slow down.

Can't hardly believe we'll be skiing again. It's been sooooo warm.

Ski season is upon us. Yeah!

I was past Loveland yesteday they just need to cover the base area and about 200yards of trail, if the weather permits they will be ready by mid week or so, Friday still looks good. As for uncrowded slopes you won't find them there, its like 300 skiers and one green run.

Yeah, you're a real uber funny guy. I guess if you're offering to sled me up to the top I'm in.
As I'm sure you read above, I have to stick with groomed and obviously chair-accessed skiing. I can't hike. There are many exercises I can't do for a year such as leg extensions with weights. I think they're going to allow me to do 90 degree squats around January. I'm not even supposed to be skiing, but um, yeah...like I'm gonna follow that advice...

Cool!! I'll see you there and hopefully we'll actually meet this time. We no doubt saw each other already at Silverton, but since there wasn't a group introduction, we never met.

Hey Endless, what about some "heli-accessed" skiing? I assume that will work as well although it may be hard to find some groomers. Get strong soon.

Man I hope to be able to afford that again some day. That was some experience to be able to do that right here in the Wasatch.
I'm sure you'll be doing it again, right?

If only the social coordinator would've shown up.

Just a few days yet - I'll see you guys this weekend. Look for the tall chick with the dragons on her skis.

Does that apply to magots as well I hate early season for that reason, all I wanna do is crank some gs turns, and all I get is crap(except at copper, on the race trail, which is supposed to be ready in about two weeks, yeah)

I could probably be talked into it, but I am not sure about this year. I guess we will find out if the Powderbirds are going to have another promotion. How long are you going to have to stick to the groomers?
