in a golfcart

with two hot, drunken 16 year-old girls from Kentucky (not sisters) on board

and I tried to outrun the dude.

Got you beat Mcwop. 4 tickets in 2 years in my WRX, lost my license for a month. Now I set the cruise at 72, no more speeding for natty. Oregon doesn't cut you any breaks.

I don't know if you can do this were you live, but in washington you can deffer your tickets once every seven years. then next time you can just get a good lawyer. thats my game plan/ what I did with the ticket I got this month.(49 in a 35) kinda pathetic in terms on tickets but I was in a lifted bronco.

whats up with ticketassasin.com? does that shit work? I just got nailed doing 77 in a 55 yesterday. The cop didnt even ask me for my registration or insurance though...just my liscense... that seemed wierd to me. I was rushing to get to a wedding rehearsal to help out the groom who had just twisted his ankle, the cop didnt seem to care though. He just said " at that speed if you had a blowout your truck would have taken out everyone on the highway" ...yeah that happens to me all the time

I once had a '69 Barracuda with a loose lense over the speedometer. Got nailed doing 78 in a 55. But I could tap the plastic lense over the speedo and it would make the needle stick, so I did that as I was slowing down. When the cop (wearing his best Foster Grant shades) started the lecture, I said, "I'm sorry, but my speedometer quit working."
His line:
"The law doesn't say you have to have a speedometer, it just says you have to go the speed limit."

A friend of mine is selling his modded WRX since he has been nailed with so many tickets and he can't afford to lose his license. The car is pretty amazing, 400 bhp with the engine mods and different turbo.
He was racing with his buddy in another black WRX, cops nailed them, super pissed, got tickets for street racing, excessive speed etc etc... So the car has to go.

Not fair....I got busted doing 56 in a 45, I was the only car in a line of 4 that pulled over, the others just took off...Last day of summer camp and I get nailed for $180....I had no end of trouble trying to pay up the same day....being a small town you have to pay directly or by cheque in US funds (which you can't do from outside the USA)...cop reconed if I didn't pay I'd get arreseted leaving the country....he also said that forigners like me shouldn't be alowed to drive in the USA (don't think he had ever been out of PA in his life).

In Scotland all the highways are littered with speeding cameras. Basically you cannot speed, but their spedd limit is more reasonable than 55mph. There it is 70mph. I am sure speeding camera proliferation is 1-2 years away on all interstates.

Well, here's the deal on my recent ticket appeal
1st, this was in Bucks County, Pa.
18 over, at the time he wrote it he knocked it back to ten over.
I appealed.
I recieved notice and show up at the JP's office on the appointed day. The cop is there and is approaching everyone there asking why we are appealing. He then suggests to those with clean records that if we plead to a lessor offense, we can just pay the fine and no points will be issued.
I jump on this and in 1/2 hour, I'm $150 lighter but am driving with a point free license.
I would with out question appeal the ticket and try to strike a deal prior to going into the hearing. May the force be with you, Mark

In Norway that would be over 900$ and at least a year without licence.... Thats why I don't have a fast car...

This could actually be good in terms of holding cops accountable for their actions as well.

As y'all may know, if you're busted for going up to ten over in MT it's a $20 ticket (only if you have cash on you and pay it to the cop right then) and it doesn't go on your record.

So my brother-in-law was pulled over in August going about 20 over. The cop reduced it to ten over and charged him $20. He didn't have any cash, so the cop offered to follow him for 15 minutes to the nearest town/ATM, where my brother-in-law could pay his fine to him. Considering he had out-of-state plates, I was pretty amazed. Nice cop with nothing better to do, I guess.

All I know is that Montana would have a hell of a time trying to speed-camera equip all of I-90 and I-15...that is a whole lot of mileage to cover, and the state isn't exactly rich.

Not to mention all the state roads and highways.

Nice to know that speed camera proliferation will probably have a tough time in the boonies.

They still do that??? A long ass time ago, my buddy and I got hammered in a Thompson Falls bar headed to Missoula, drinking and smoking on down the road, got pulled over for apparently doing 75 in a 25 through some town we never remembered even seeing. The cop lightened our wallets for $225 and let us go. He said if we wanted to contest it, he'd have to arrest us and drive us 75 miles to the nearest jail and judge. Considering everything he coulda nailed us for, we felt fortunate and happily paid.

I've never heard of having to pay $225 on the spot. If it's a major violation you always get a ticket and a court date. Odds are the cop pocketed that money, not that it really matters.

I REALLY want to hear about bad_roo's record here. I bet he has some pretty impressive tales.

My dad has an Audi Allroad, and whenever i drive it, it's always tempting to punch the accelerator to the floor and see what happens... but then i envision what would happen if i got a ticket and my dad found out i was speeding in his baby. Let's just say that the ticket would be the least of my worries.

Speeding is just way too expensive, and you don't really get there that much faster. Plus, driving isn't too bad. I enjoy just hanging out and listening to tunes, and i figure the longer it takes to get there, the more tunes I can enjoy.

That's exactly what we figured - but hey - it was the 70's, and things could have been worse.

Got a reckless driving ticket 2 weeks after I turned 16. Went to court, ended up that I had to pay the fine but it didn't go on my record as long as I didn't get another ticket for a year. Which as it turns out was no problem since my parents promptly sold the Mach One Mustang I had been working on (bought it as a wreck and rebuilt the thing, 351 Cleveland putting out around 400 horsepower, redid the whole body, paint, everything) and bought me a moped. Fucking moped.

This last week I drove my new car home from Boston to Tahoe and got a ticket on the way in New York state. He said he got me at 83 in a 65, so 18 miles, not good at all. He takes my info and reg., which are both just receipts from the DMV since I just got them the week before, and is a bit weirded out. Oh, and I don't have any plates either. He checks though, guess he sees that I have a clean record, and gives me a ticket for "failure to obey posted signs" or something along those lines. He said it would have been real expensive for me otherwise. There's no fee amount on the ticket, and he didn't write my last name on the ticket. Any advice on what I should do? I can't really go to court there.
