    Smile 75!!!!!! (nsr)

Holy crap I am sweet. Decided to get in 18 holes of golf after classes today by myself. Course was deserted, cranked the tunes on my cd player and proceded to shot the round of my life.

    36 39 - 75

I cant believe it, finally broke 80 and by 5 shots!! woohoo! That is a goal that has been bugging me for over 2 years. Beat my previous best score by 8 shots. And my best 9 hole score was 39 before today.

Cool, 80's a tough number to break.

    Edit for trivia:
95% of golfers never break 100 in 18 holes.

I always shoot my best scores when I play solo & the course is not crowded. The problem with that is no one ever believes me when I say I shot well, because when I play w/ my normal group, I usually suck.

It's always nice to break 80.

Congrats! I'm just amazed you can still play golf in Houghton this time of year.

Hey, I've got relatives up there. You don't know anyone with the last name Alkire, do you?

nope, doesnt ring a bell. I have to admit I am not a true yooper, just up here for school.

Yeah the leaves are pretty much done for up here, its getting close. I would like winter to start right now, because now all I have to look forward to is the disapointment and anger when I go back to my old ways of shooting around 90. This would be the perfect way to end the season.

I know how that goes. I used to work at a country club with a really nice course. I would go out after work for a few holes before the sun went down. On a blustery fall day by myself on the back nine, I sunk a 145 yard 8-iron for my first and only eagle. Goddam if I haven't had five other eagle puts on par fives with three dudes watching and missed 'em all. Believe me if you want to...

A quick search reveils, prof. Alkire is in civil and environmental. I'm in the school of business and economics, so I dont think I've had any classes with him.

If I do meet him I'll be sure to ask about his relative from seattle who posts on ski message boards all day and hangs out with maggots
