Judging from this, how 'bout "Camp Fuck Me I am bored"? Sorry man, but the only thing that should be going on in the evenings is lotsa beer drinking. The slideshow thing could be kind of cool, and all that other stuff would be great too, but I would do it before dinner or something, no one is going to want to sit around in the evenings hearing lectures and going to seminars. Before anything else your camp has to be fun, or people won't go.
I'm in a band. It's called "Just the Tip."

I dunno about that. It depends a whole lot on what age group str8line has in mind. If he's smart (i.e. want to make a living) which I think he is then he's aiming his marketing at people above 28-30. Those are the ones who can afford (and are willing to/want to) pay a bunch of money to attend a camp like this I think. This audience expects a lot from the organizational point of view; and would probably find a few evenings with seminars/technique discussions/slideshows etc. very interesting. That can still be done with a beer in hand btw Catering to the 17-30ish wannabee-extreme audience can be pretty fun as it's easy (good skiing and beer is all that's needed) but because said audience seldom wants/needs high-class accomodation/food/etc. the overall price of the camp has to be pretty low and thus the profit of riunning the camp will most likely be a lot lower. And I doubt that str8line is doing a camp just for the fun of it; he has to make a living out of it.

At least this is how I would think if organizing a freeride-camp.

Dude, it might just happen in May/June next year somewhere in Norway. Probably with a little wave surfing and some wakeboarding thrown in. Or something. It's an ongoing project that'll probably go live in a year or two; been in the works for a while.

But I mean, seriously: look at Coombs' Steep Skiign Camps or the Skiers Lodge clientel; it's pretty far between the 19 y.o's., simply because they're hard to make money off.

Just the thought of Norwegian wave surfing is hurting my beanbag.

I can't believe nobody suggested these...

Howz about "Peifer's Pain Train". Or "El Gordo's Stoke Camp". Or alternatively, "El Gordo's Tits Camp."

Or something along the lines of "Hey, check us out, we're going to teach you to rip the shit out of this!" You could abbreviate that to HCUOWGTTYTRTSOOT. I like it, it ends in "oot", you'll attract some Canuck's for sure, eh? That url's probably not taken either.

You were really expecting serious answers??? You have been away for a long time!

I just noticed that Jayfrizzo came up with four of those names.

I guess that gives Frizzle my Nizzle a 4 in 7 chance of winning some goggles. So far...

    Fo Shizzle.

    my first thought:

Rubicon Ventures (check out the meaning of the words)

.. will brainstorm as the day goes on ....

    some other thoughts:

    - would try and keep it to a two or three name title - easy to abreviate (ala TGR or MSP)

    - first word should describe the medium (i.e. mountains, snow, etc.)

    - second word should describe what we do (i.e. slay, rage, destroy, paint, etc.)

-third word should describe as a unified front (i.e. team, posse, etc.)

    - other things that you might try and describe via one word in the title is "instruction" and taking people "beyond" where they've been before

my best brainstorm as of right now:

    Big Mountain Technicians (abbreviated BMT)

Without going back to see who stated it (on the 1st page).. I was a huge fan of "The Next Level".

I like Xover's thoughts... but I would make a subtle change.. being that this is a camp with the goal of making clients better skiers, I think that should be reflected in the name... thus, "The Next Level."

I've got a meeting now, so plenty of time to brainstorm!

I know you said to try and keep it non-site specific, but you gotta let peeps know where home base is - how's 'bout:

    Wasatch Mountain Technicians

... now just think of a catchy, one-word way to say you're gonna take them to the "next level" and beyond
